I would hold off on the trip till next year. I was there a week ago and it was terrible and really icy. If you want good/decent conditions go to beaver creek. They have so much more open and better terrain.and its a 20 min drive down the road.

Yup I just spent one day at vail than the rest at Beaver because it was that much better
