Do you think it draws you back from progressing your creative self?
Not only applied to edits but as well as any other creative outlet. Sometimes its fun to see your progression haha.
What do you guys think?

Sadly, I watch a lot of my own work often, usually much older stuff. I feel like watching and critiquing your own work helps you grow. If you make an edit and never watch it again, you won't learn from your mistakes.

I watch my stuff a ton and pick it apart. It is also fun to see how far I have progressed, haha.

I watch my own edits pretty often. Ha I'd say almost every other day I reminisce on previous edits I've made. Both to critique but also to look back on how much fun I had making that edit

i like to watch my ski edits all in a row starting with the oldest so i can see how much i progressed in skiing (those were all filmed with gopros and such) and then i like to watch my other edits with the same sorta genre at the same time too also to see how my color grading style changed and how i can make it better. then sometimes ill watch edits that i know were really fun to make just to remember some of those good times

Well I've made like 2 edits and when I was sitting there rendering them they seemed sick, but looking back they fucking suck.

i think this is how most everyone feels about a lot of their work. but thats what makes you better because the next time you know what you want to do better. i only have 1 edit that i really like and even in that i want to go back and change some things

Yup. I will usually watch my own edit like 10 times once it has been uploaded onto NS or Vimeo. There is something about watching your own edit when it is being hosted on the internet vs. just on your own computer. And what eheath said.
