First of all, searchbar.
Second a misty is set completely forward. Just throw ur arm and head toward the opposite ski
Here is the best description ive found for a rodeo ive found for a rodeo:
1) you set your rotation before you popped, but thats normal when your learning, just commit a bit more. remember, its pop-set-stomp
2) when you set your rotation, it looked like you were a bit back seat, thats from presetting before the pop, which will fuck you so dont do that
3) it also looks, form your set, like your leading your rotation with the shoulder/neck. this isnt good, and will cause some neck pain after doing that all day. you want to set your rotation with your hips, shoulders and neck, but hips are so clutch
so for a sucessful left rodeo 5: pop, right away set with your hips, with the right hip going up and towards the left. when you set this way youll be moving forward vs setting with your shoulders and causing backward momentum. at about the same time as u do that, youll keep same angle you moved your right hip with going, and drop your left shoulder back to to the right. so your hip/shoulder will be making like an off-axis circle if that makes sense. helps too if you kick your right ski up to carry the momentum through and around to follow your shoudler. you can also dip your right shoulder and grab japan, itll come very natural with this rotation. do those and youll stomp it. i would also recommend a bigger jump, and not a hip. i learned them on like a 30fter, u just HAVE to commit to the pop, then set. if u preset your rotation youll knuckle or even deck which would fuckin blo so dont do that. if you can backflip just like pop set one of those, then just pop and set rodeo. now go stomp that shit
OK BUT schillers rodeo 5 tip video makes it look forward, over the front (forward tackling motion). So a misty is just less offset, more straight forward? TJs rodeo 5 DOES NOT look related to a backflip, it looks more for forward! Do you throw it tho with a backflip rotation to the side kinda?
I think this is the biggest misconception in skiing. If you mirror a misty 5 with a backflip, it's an underflip 5. There's absolutely no way you can argue with that. the opposite of misty 5 is underflip 5, opposite of misty 7 is d-spin 7.
Rodeo 5 is more like lincoln loop with a 180. Yes, the lincoln loop is thrown a little more backflippy than a straight lincoln, but it's much more of a sideflip with a spin than a backflip with a spin.
