Hospital Emergency Room waits!!

what the hell? My arm is throbbing and there are 5 staff lollygagging behind the desk, my paperwork just sitting there. I understand ER = huge wait but I am the only one even here! How about some sense of urgency so I don't have to bloody sit here watching Teletoon all afternoon? Eff this!

Go to a private clinic dude, I separated my rib on saturday and went to my local clinic and was seen, x-rayed, diagnosed and leaving the clinic with a bottle full of percocet in an hour.

Well hopefully soon I will know just what I did to my arm. Handdrag 3 knuckle to smash hand on snow. I guess free healthcare should constitute more patience on my part...

Canadian ER systems blow fucking dick. When I broke my heel my foot was swollen to about the size of a watermelon and it took 4 hours for me to even get x-rays done. Only for the fuckface med student to tell me my foot had no breaks in it. Went in for a followup CT-scan a week later, 3 fractures in my heel, 1 in another bone in my foot and 1 at the bottom of my tibia. Well thats my rant, I have spent a lot of time in the ER and the shortest I have been through is within about 2 hours, the longest being about 7 hours.

BTW we still have waits here, but also huge bills. It cost me $1700 for them to put liquid stitches on my lip when I bit through it last year. If I'd known it was going to cost that much I would have just put some super glue on it.

prolly not superglue, but i think you can get liquid stitches at most pharmacies... but that might be wrong

deal with it, hospitaLS suck.

I had to wait hours to get in with my shoulder. babies crying girls running around screaming. I turned to see the tv and dropped my phone and couldnt get it. I almost started crying. If that girl hadnt picked it up for me i would have lost it. Hospitals suck especially alone

Ya man I feel your pain I dislocated my elbow and had a spiral fracture in my humorous doctors said it was the worst elbow break they have ever seen. I had to wait 18 hours for surgery, which was 6 hours and two pins

the us is just as bad and we pay out the ass for it, i was discharged from the mountains clinic, and an er visit, untill the 3rd time i went to the hospital when they finally found the 3 fractured bones in my back and was in the hospital for 5 day

broke my humorous(funny bone) in 4 places last year. bone was sticking out of my arm, top of my arm had no feeling in it. I was bending it back 180 degrees. pretty rad. Got to the ER and they said there was gonna be about an hour wait. Ended up being in the waiting room for like 8 min. luckily.

Its not much better here in the us. I had my arm twisted around in an "s" shape, and people with minor head injuries were getting ahead of me. I understand the urgency with the noggin, but someone would come in after i had been waiting for 2 hours with a cut on their head requiring stitches, and they would be admitted right away.

Triage. You should all read about it and how it works.

I do agree though that the system sucks and that wait times are absurd.

i fractured my foot on new years and waited about 2 days to see if the swelling would go down. decided to go to the emerge and luckily waited about 3 hours. wasnt busy at all which was odd but whatever. longest i ever waited would be 7 hours for damn stitches. sucks ass but feels amazing leaving, knowning you dont have to wait one more second.

krazy glue works pretty much the same as liquid stitches, my mom was pre-vet (similar to pre med training) and she used that to fix my dogs head when it fought a much larger dog and had a huge tooth mark hole in its head. its non toxic too, so that would've worked.

My local ER is actually really fast, maybe because I'm the only one ever in it. but I'm always in and out in under an hour

ER waits are the worst. My last one was 2 Novembers ago on Remeberance Day. I spent 5 hours waiting around and then I finally got x-rayed and got a cast put on my arm.  inb4 cool story bro
