i mean the filming was cool and all, but what a senseless waste of life. regardless of the fact that they're just bugs, it bothers the hell out of me that someone would kill 30,000 living things just for 3 minutes of neat video. especially since bees are on the decline, this just really pissed me off.

this was probably going to happen. those japanese hornets are nasty. not to mention the european bees are not native creatures being introduced into a locale that has the hornets that already attack a native bee for their larvae.

if someone were farming honey with european bees in japan, the hornets are going to attack and eat their larvae.

the japanese bees have developed an interesting defense against the hornets.

Sucks about the bees. Their decline is a serious problem. But Japanese hornets have almost nothing to do with that decline. It's mostly because of pesticides and shit like that.
The shot where a honey bee is riding on a hornet's head and the hornet flips over, rips it down and stings the shit out of it is fucking epic.

I was thinking this same thing.

I mean, i'm not against it or anything. People can do whatever they want.

But yeah, it made me a little angy that 30,000 that's a SHIT ton of bee's 30,000 died for a video. And it wasn't like a NG show where they film it happening in the wild with no human control. They had full control.

Total waste of life, but cool video once you get past that.
