I am in the process of building a pneumatic press for skis at my school. We are making the cores inhouse and getting the profile with our CNC machine. If you could help with core composition as in which species of wood work the best for a pow, park, and all mountain ski. Also the process in pressing skis would help too. In the context of order and timing of pressing epoxying and how to do edges. One last thing would be how to make topsheets. Any help would be highly appreciated.

Wouldn't desired flex be a better determining characteristic for the species of the core?

wanting cores to be as described for the categories below. hope this helps.
pow-softer flex but wont flex out on landings. stiff enough to keep good control in the trees
park-snappy but buttery. wont flex out on landings but can stay in control while flexing on landings.
all mtn- rigid, stiff. can power through turns and hold a good edge at higher speeds.
