I am looking at ordering a pair of atomic volts. I wear an 10.5/11 street shoe and a 27.5 spk. Does the volt or atomic boots run true to size? big? or small? anyone know?
I have the purple ones. I sized down because I like a tighter fit, and they've packed out perfectly. Onenerdykid has the answer for everything though. And GO TRY THEM ON, if you can
Since I have to spell everything out for you pukes, here goes.
How long a boot fits on a foot is dependent on the shape of the foot. Imagine if you will, that the back spine of the boot (right behind the Achilles) is curved, this is common in many boots, and you have two different foot/leg shapes. One has a little curvature in their Achilles, the other has a greater curvature than that of the boot. The boot will fit larger on the second leg/foot than the first... That is one of the many ways the shape of the shell can affect how 'long' a boot fits.
So go see a an atomic dealer in Bozeman who knows his shit.
than you are fucking retarded for asking this question. Literally dumber than the crap I just picked out my nose, cause I am a nerdy engineer and allowed to do socially awkward things like pick my nose.
Did your boot-fitter size you for them or do a shell fit or anything? There is really no such thing as a boot that runs true to size. This is because everyone's feet interact differently with the contours and volume of the shell. The only way to know for sure if the boot is going to work for you is to have a fitter examine your foot in the shell and see if it matches correctly. But, hopefully it works out for you, it's a sick boot if it fits you!
Well no one near me carries the boots. I went to 4 stores. I shell fit myself in an atomic hawx. but that boot is nothing like the volt. So i got the 27.5 I think I will be good.
You shell test yourself on the hawx (100mm last boot) for the volt (98mm last boot)? You should've tried on the burner at least that has the same last.
I really doubt no one in bozeman carries a boot with the same shell as the volt. Of course, that opinion is based on common sense, which you seem to be lacking.
What i think is more inportant the the size is how tight the spk was on your instep. The spk instep is pretty low and the Volt is pretty high, so unless you had allot of pressure in the spk, chances are the volt may be too big in the instep. This may cause shin pain or heel lift but you can use volume reducers if you need to close some space up.
