Friends, Sarah Burke was seriously injured today and is currently being treated in Salt Lake City. Her husband, Rory Bushfield, and her mother are trying to fly from YVR tonight to see her. I don't fully understand what could have happened, as reports say she landed on her feet, then bounced to her head... trying a flatspin...

All i can imagine is that she landed on the top of the lip then bounced/flipped/fell back in to the pipe hitting her head on the wall on the way down - either way she must have given herself a hell of a wallop? Do you remember Dumonts crash in the xgames warm up last year (i think it was xgames anyway) - it was super brutal where he hit the lip and buckled himself back in to the pipe... makes you realize how lucky he was then.

I hate pipes - they're so brutal... mega vibes - hope she's ok and makes a full recovery... I'm Still confident she'll be back to take gold at the olympics...

apparently she landed flat to the bottom of the pipe and then bounced to her head. Not sure how that would happen but there is alot of force coming down from that height
