My Moment reno jibs( AFTER 1 MONTH OF CLEAN RIDING)have sustained an edge crack under the heel piece of the binding, and now basically my whole underfoot is beginning to delaminate... Not the greatest thing. Moment doesn't want anything to do with a warranty because of the edge crack so i have to fix these beasts on my own. What should I use to bring my bases back to the core of the ski? I heard to use epoxy but I'm not much of a frequent user.
Well as long as you didn't hit any rails then they should cover the edge crack/ delam. So if you haven't hit rails as I assume clean riding means you should call them up over the phone and talk it out, I imagine that they would help you out depending on how it happened.
Get slow curing marine epoxy, some clamps, a wood block and a plastic bag. When you clamp, use the wood block to distribute pressure and put the plastic between the wood and base so you don't permanently affix a wood block to your skis.
That fix wouild not be easy to do, its a large delam. Just take them to a shop, should not cost more then $30 and that would be your best bet for it holding. It wont hold long though, as said before if you have not hit rails its a warrenty. Reaaly that should be warrentied any way as that delam should not happen just from an edge crack. Have you sent the pics to moment?
I went and bought the best epoxy wally world had to offer, hair dried the delaminated area, filled the delaminated area with epoxy, and clamped a flat piece of board to my ski using 4 clamps covering the whole area. It seems to be working so far but I'm going to let it sit over night to make sure then file the edges where I applied the epoxy and wax em.
