I can't FS Pretzel to save my life

I get on the rail, bring my ski closer to the end of the rail up, and I can't get any rotation.  For some reason I can't physically visualize how it works.  I find it too awkward to pop and do a switch up either.  If I try the same thing on a box, I get a 90 degree pretzel, even after I ATTEMPT to pop.  Any help and advice to how I can do this? Thanks

Front 2 =/= pretzel... It's all about committing and setting a good pop.

its not just about angling your ski, youve got to physically pressure that ski to give yourself the necessary rotation

Pop 90, lock on, dig your edge in and set a little with your upper body and you should be gold with practice

well if you're coming from snowboarding it would make sense that way. sameway = blind, pretzel = frontside.

Personally I find concentrating on digging in your front ski, scissoring, will just cause me to start the spin. My advice would be as soon as your on the rail focus on the scissor then at the end of the pop look up the hill, it should come around for ya bud!!

Same problem, i can 2 out but only blind cause i find it easier that im already rotating that way to get on the rail, i cant imagine digging my ski into the rail for some reason

That's wrong. Frontside is spinning so you initially face down the hill, blind is facing up the hill and pretzel is when you spin on one way and spin off the other.

To add to that, it's not really pretzel unless your spinning at least 180 on. You don't really count a 90 on to fs 270 as pretzel.

pretend its a 180 out and dont set too hard. keep practicing hiking and keep a good attitude and you will get it well.

I meant that a pretzel is at least 180 on, change directions to at least 180 off. Sorry if that came out a little confusing
