Our private park that changes up every session is located on Mt. Hood.  you can go through our park and then through public... mile long park laps? yes please.

Not only do we have the best on hill park, we also have one of the best skate parks in the US on our own private campus.  we have our concrete jungle, and if the weather is bad we also have our amazing indoor skate park called B.O.B. Inside B.O.B we have 2 olympic trampolines and a huge foam pit for you to progress your air awareness.

We also have 2 on hill air bags, as well as our own dry slope jump into an airbag on our campus.  We also have a dry slope rail garden for you to work on your skills after you get off the mountain.

Our staff is the best there is,  everyone here loves to be on snow.  We have a lot of the big names in skiing as our coaching staff and all the other pros are lapping our lanes all day to get you stoked.

I'm not going to lie windells was kinda a mehh experience for me. I worked all winter to afford it, and so i was expecting something great. I broke my back within two hours of getting off the plane. I was jumping on the tramps and a id double bounced me which compressed my back in a weird way. I didnt know it was broken at the time (turns out it was a stress fracture) so I thought I would just ignore it and push through.
I was still expecting a killer week.
The first night I went to dinner and stood in line right in front of will wesson, andy parry, shane mcfalls, ahmet dadhali and some others. That was dope. Me basically just talked about shit like them coming to my home resort in ohio to film an episode of tc. Andy paid me a dollar to make an awkward situaion with a girl, it was hilarious. That was one of the highlights of the whole trip. We met our coaches and I got Ashley Battersby. THat was dope because I looked up to her a lot. I actually still stay in contact with her now. It started going down hill when the first day i went skiing and my back got truely messed after one jump. I came back early and laid down in agonizing pain. My roomates snuck into out councilors room and stole oyxcodone that night. He had like a town acl so he had some of these laying around. Im not tryign to get him in trouble at all. Last summer I was super super innocent. I had never seen weed, or been exposed to any of that shit. So these guys took like 7 oxy 10mg each and crushed them up and blew them. My back was in so much pain I almost took some. Reguardless I didn't and decided to go out skiing the next day. Once again put me in agonizing pain so i came back early. My roommates had gotten dank from some people in the public park and insisted on smoking it every chance and keeping it in MY suitcase (as I found out later.) I didn't want to get in trouble for any of this shit. I went to the ER the next day and the doc said it was most likely muscle related and gave me muscle relaxers. Those things put me out. They were called cyclobenzaphrine and I didnt give them to the nurse, because the nurse only gave them out when I absolutely needed them. I just put them in my bag. WHen I was on these muscle relaxers it was the worst. I literally didnt know where I was, how I got there and why my back hurt so much. The next day I refused to take them, but I stayed back again. THat night I went to my bag to get my wallet to find half of my muscle relaxers were gone, and so was $120. I didnt put the money in their account thing because you could only pull it out in small increments.
I truley forget about the next few days. THe second to last day I decided to go skiing again. I borrowed a camera of one friend I met there and took photos all day. I have a diecutter and brought like 100 wu tang stickies and gave them out to a bunch of people in the lodge at timberline including steve stepp and bdog! /claim. Also a highlight. I cruised all day by myself adn got shots. SUper fun, but also sad and lonely. That night was cabin clean up. My 3 roomates got vodka and literally every single one if my 12 roomates took shots... Except me. This included a 13 year old. I even have video of it. It was cabin clean up that night and our cabin went from decently clean, to a total mess in like 30 minutes. Our councilor came back from dinner to find puke all over the place, kids passed out, etc. I had to clean the whole cabin by myself with my councilors help. He was super chill, so he didnt rattle until the place was clean and the slightly drunk people were out. I had no clue who was going to get in trouble so I called my parents adn told them "I HAD ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH IT" and then hung up. They were hysterical not knowing what was going on. 3 kids got blacklisted and everyone else got away with it.

Long story short...
Went with high expectations. Worked my ass off to get there. Broke back, and didnt have moola for insurance... Sooooo i was stuck wit it. Got corrupted by roommates. Experienced assholes who came with 10 friends and wouldn't let anyone into their friend group. FOREVER ALONE AT CAMP. Parents now scared to let me go to a camp like this again.

If you want to go to this camp-
Expect a fun time. DO NOT expect it to be as fun as their videos make it seem. It is cold on the mountain. BRING SUNSCREEN. My face got charred day one. Expect dumbass cocky kids whose parents have enough money to get rid of them by sending them to windells.

 


 


 


A month later I went to snowflex camp. BEST EXPERIENCE OF MY LYFE! Everyone was chill adn happy. Ohh and it costed $350. YEEEEEE.

for everyone who will read this;

if you ever see anything going on that is wrong please let someone know.  I dont just mean at camp, in life in general if something is going wrong or you see something bad make it known.

So from what im reading here, you hurt your back and somehow you are saying that its our fault you didnt have a good time?

im sorry you hurt your back, there is nothing we can do to prevent that.  Travel insurance would have gotten you all of your money back, but unfortunately you did not purchase that.

I would just like to know why you wouldnt say something whenever you knew  that your roomates were Stealing and using prescription drugs that were not prescribed to them?  To me thats common sense... that would have prevented you from getting in any sort of trouble and would have helped us take care of this problem immediatly.  You should have gone to your councelor and said something.

Next problem was that you didnt turn your prescription medicine into the nurse.  The nurse is here to administer medicine when it is needed and would have prevented your prescription from being stolen.

unfortunately your money was stolen,  when you checked into camp you were asked if you had any money or anything you would like us to hold onto, obviously you didnt take advantage of this.  ( you are able to take out as much of your money, whenever you want)

Again, please if anything happens like this (stealing) you need to speak up so that we can deal with it.

someone did manage to get some alcohol, we found 3 kids to be intoxicated and throwing up in the cabin, we dealt with this exactly how we should have. We immediatly kicked them out of camp and took them to stay the night at a hotel near the airport.

Again, if you see underage kids drinking, speak up.

Long story short...
if you see something going on that you know is wrong, please let someone know, that is the only way that we could deal with the issue.

If you want to go to this camp...
expect to have a fun time,  we have fun activities going on all hours of the day.  come to camp, get involved, meet some new people and have a great time.

This could get epic.

I to went to this camp (same session as WillyG) and honestly it is not what they make it out to be online.

Lets start out with the good things-
-On hill was nice (not great)
-Skate park was cool
-B.O.B. was ok but nothing special
-Good breakfast food

Now onto my complaints
-90% of the kids are the most arrogant douches you will ever meet in your life. Their parents paid to get them out of the house and this is where they happened to chose. Most of them are ungrateful about everything and are complete pricks.
-As i mentioned earlier the breakfast food was good. However the food lines were outrageous and you had to wait a 1/2 hour minimum to get your meals. Dinners were not good at all, and you had it pack your own lunch which is much less than i expected after paying 2K.
-All the facilities were kind of sketch. The dry slope air bag was by far the worst because you had no control over where you were going and just had to aim from the top. The dryslope rail yard was also not great because it was much steeper than they make it look online. Falling on the dry slope was also no fun because it would cut into your skin making progression impossible.
-The cabins were one of my biggest problems. I was staying with 5 other kids in something the size of a college dorm room. Everything was impossible to find and there was a high risk of things being lost or stolen. And NO windells i am not just talking about money ipods laptops etc. I am talking about things such as Jiberish, skis, outwear, goggles and things that one should not need to check.
-Activities were also greatly exaggerated on their website. Sure it says they constantly have activities running, but honestly the are boring and not fun for the most part. This is probably one of the reason kids resort to drinking at camp, because there is truly nothing else to do.
-Also do NOT expect to be winning anything in the raffles that the provide. Though on their website they make it seem as if everyone wins a lot of gear, a very small percentage of people win something other than a t-shirt or beanie.

Overall windells is not what it is made out to be. It was decent, but that is only because i was skiing in july. The majority of the kids there are arrogant stuck up douches that will make you want to kick a baby, you are staying in a cramped room, stuff will get stolen, the facilities are sketchy, and the activities are not as fun as they look.

My suggestion would be to look into a different camp than windells

Not to mention they treat their employees like shit. But thats a whole different story

I know there is more that i am forgetting and my grammar is probably horrid. But i just wanted to get the point across

-On Hill is absolutely great, What would you say was wrong with our park? Id like to know.

-Skate park is amazing ( we wouldnt have the best pro skaters in the world begging us to skate our park on a daily basis if it wasnt.)

-B.O.B. is awesome as well.

-All meals are Great.


-Everyone is allowed at Windells so im sure their are campers here who may not be the nicest people, but all of our campers are great.  Everyone is here for the love of the snow and is here to have a great time.  You should open up your mind and be kind to everyone.  You may find out the others are not the ones who are arrogant.

-All of our food is great and everyone loves it, you're the first person I have ever heard complain about it.  You dont like chinese food, Cheese steaks and pizza? Weird.

-Of course you have to pack your own lunch...were not your Mom, you should be able to handle making a sandwich.

-Sketch? Really?  Youre not supposed to turn while hitting our dryslope airbag, you need all the speed from the top. Sorry you couldnt handle the rail garden...

-Actually Their is only 4 people in each room.  If their were actually problems with goggles, jiberish, and skis being stolen im sure that we would hear about it.  never have.

-How were the activities exaggerated? we do have activities going on all the time.  Most kids think they are too cool, as you probobly didl, but if you would just participate you would have a good time.

-Alot of our prizes are given out during the activities in the evenings, Had you participated im sure you would have won something.

Overall Windells is definitely what its made out to be, Had you taken advantage of your opportunities here at Windells, and not judge people, im sure you would have had a blast here at camp.

You know nothing about how we treat our employees.

I'm a COC camper I've gone there 3 years in a row but I love seeing Windells burn these whiny campers

Well whoever is responding for the Windell's account surely doesn't know how to respond professionally. You sound very stubborn, unhelpful and like you're trying to sell a chocolate fireplace to a couple of ex customers who are clearly very unhappy. Drop the attitude and you might get somewhere.

SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO TO MHSSC. Skiing with Shea Flynn, Maks Gorham, Nolan Willard, and Keiran McSlay for a week was insane, and I had literally no complaints about my week there. Except maybe that I wish I had gone earlier so I didn't have to hike the park, but it's not too bad.

Maybe someone can help me out- im a bit confused after reading this thread. Isnt my hood, MHSSC and windells all the same ? i was debating on either windells or C.O.C this summer and after reading this windells doesnt seem like it would be good for me. Especially after a 16 yr old said it was to young for him.

I think your a little confused about windells.

We offer an adult program.  The adults stay in their own house across the street from our main campus.  The adults have their own host who drives them up to the mountain everyday.  He also takes your around to check out the local bar scene and do other adult activities.  You guys get to go into portland for sushi on camp one night, Bowling, movies, private skate sessions in our indoor skatepark and all sorts of good things.  You are also more than welcome and encouraged to participate in the activities that go on here on campus.  Its pretty awesome to be able to be involved in camp but also able to head back to the house to hang out with the other adults and drink some brews ( if thats your thing).

There is plenty of snow left in august.  Its actually one of the most fun sessions.  You will be paired up with a coach based on your skill level and can focus on whatever you want to in our private park.

Hey windells-thanks for the info. Just a couple of quick question. Are you working with a coach everyday. If so how long are the sessions? Do the adults also get to use the trampoline and hopefully progress tricks to a jump bag? (if thats the order) Also windells ISNT the same as MHSSC?

COC and WIndells do not coach, they may be with you for a couple times a day but a general rule is that they do not do any actually "hands on coaching", i was a camper at both camps so feel free to ask me about anything. WIndells is more traditional compared to COC because its kinda secluded, in contrast COC usually stays in hotels and is in the village so you can take advantage of everything whistler has to offer. DO not go to camp though thinking your going to learn a ton, just go there to ski and have fun. DO NOT expect much from the coaches.

I went to windells last summer. It doesn't have an amazing park but I was defiantly one of the funniest places I had ever gone to. Totally worth it if you go with some friends
