Weird jittery line problem?

With my t3i. First shot, the lift cable is weird and jittery, and the second shot the orange tape fence and the lift line? Any ideas on what i am doing wrong? I am running magic lantern. kit lens. 16gb class 10 card?

Welcome to HDSLR video.

Those lines you're seeing are called Moire.

What's happening is when your DSLR records video it skips every third line of data and places a line of fake pixels to fill the space.

When you have objects with a lot of detail ie, brick wall, braded lift wire, pebble beach, etc. The camera doesn't fill in the lines of data perfectly and it causes the effect you see in your shots.

The only way to avoid it (other than not buying a DSLR) is using a shallower DOF and putting those areas out of focus.

This is the only thing I hate about my DSLR. I would switch to a GH2 if I could afford it.
