also was looking through the 12/13 gear thread and was debating waiting till next year to get new skis, but i have beat up abangs right now so hard decisions. help me, +k for legit answers

on3p will be better made. moments might be softer (not sure on the flexs), but the FR's have rocker, so they will be fairly easy to butter. ON3P will hold up better than the jibs.

If i were you i wouldn't really get any of those skis, considering you ski a shit ton of rails. Just get another pair of afterbangs if you like them.
If not and you still want these skis, i can highly recommend the Filthys.
Best park skis i have every been on, super stable, best swing weight i have every felt, buttery, snappy, poppy. Really everything you could want in i park ski.
Only complaint i have is i wish they were longer, but your short so you wont have that problem.

I agree. I also have the 181s and have found that they ski a hell of a lot shorter than my 178 Chronics and Blends.
Maybe a mid to high 180 in future would suffice?

Well then. Maybe try out anthems? I know a site where they still have them in 178.
Any reason why you picked the to skis in the op?

They are both really good skis, but for the riding you do it would be kinda sad to just over bash them like that. Especially if you can spend less money.
If you decide to go that way anyway i really recommend the filthy riches.

I ride my FRs mostly in CT...they KILL it all over the mountain. I've never had any issues with them, in fact they're AWESOME. I absolutely love these skis, they kill it on groomers, ice, rails, jumps...everywhere. The turning radius is amazing, I've never had a park ski that can carve this hard, sometimes I feel like I'm back on a pair of GS skis...then I go backwards and carve just as hard. In fact...just for kicks, I took them down the race course of the small mountain I work at...had one of the fastest times of the day...it was quite funny. They're fast and stiff and stable...but still butterable and playful, the perfect mix. The camber underfoot helps hold an edge and the rocker makes them playful and charge throw crud. Also, one of the best parts of the ski, especially for east coast park skiers, is the thickness of the edges...by this point in time of the season, my edges are usually paper thin and about to fall out underfoot...but on my FRs, they're not even at the point of a brand new pair of normal park skis. I'm extremely happy with the way ON3P runs is business and builds their skis, seriously don't hesitate to buy these skis, they're amazing in every way, you won't be disappointed.

The Jibs slay on rails, they're super light, have a really smooth ride, and I found spinning out of rails on them super easy, but the quality is kind of ehh.. I also know another kid, who's a Meathead, at my local mountain with the filthy riches. I've seen him rip through skis, and so far they seem like a very good quality ski for jibbing. I personally like my Moments, but he on3ps appear to be a really solid ski too.

This is like trying to decide between the ribeye and the filet mignon at the met. They are both amazing, and will leave you satisfied.

This so much. Sweetest ski I have ever ridden. My complaint is that they're heavier so it makes popping up on to urban style rails and doing switch ups harder. That being said the ski is so awesome I'll sacrifice the weight

Wait what?
Do you have lead in your bindings? These skis have the lightest swing weight i have ever felt. And they are not even heavy. Did you get them way to long or something?

I guess they're a little longer. I"m 5'10" and ride the 181. They might also feel heavy because my last skis were LTEs.

I don't the weight of the LTEs but my 181s feel like they are made of feathers (obviously they aren't) and I'm the same height as you.

178 LTE is 1600g
171 Filthy Rich is 1690
181 Filthy Rich is 1850
Dimensions - 178 LTE - 116/87/105
171 FR - 114/88/114
181 FR - 118/88/118
says on their websites.
Not a big deal though - LTE is probably the lightest on the market, So the Filthy Rich is still lighter than most of its competitors I guess.

It might seem a bit village, but you should look into buying second hand park skis off a good skier if you can. They'll be battered up, broken in, nice and buttery and you won't constantly be scared of getting that first chip in your top sheet off a rail-bail. I find i ride so much harder on second hand skis for 150 bucks than i do on brand new gift-wrapped shiny things for five times the price. You'd be surprised what you can get and if you're lucky you'll get some sweet bindings on them too.
