I'm thinking about picking up a pair of s3s but i have an important question... ive heard a lot about the base material really sucking on the older versions.. is there a difference between the 10/11 and the 11/12s? when did the change in base material take place?

I have 2009/2010 S3's and the bases tend to get torn up easier than my friends' skis it seems. They're also kinda slow but that could just be due to the wax I'm using. No idea about newer ones.

09s had bad bases, they have changed it since. I have 2012 s3s and love them. Super fun, turn really quick. Im 5'9 150lbs on 178cm

anyone? i can't verify that the change took place on the 10/11s, and i have no interest in buying skis with shitty bases..

i had the 09/10s and the bases were the only thing i didn't like about them. just had to keep them waxed like every 3 days on snow, or they were sooooo slow.
