Like when some chick or another dude asks you is you ski or snowboard or something and you say "oh yeah I ski" and they automatically think that your one of the gaper fags that ski with their skis wide and arms out??? It pisses the hell outa me then you have to explain to them what freeskiing is..


but also WHO ELSE was at afton alps today???

I hate it, ill hit on cute girls in the lodge and they will be like "wat board u ride?" and im like "yo niggaz i ski" and they are like "oh im sorry"

And same with at school ill be like hell yeah shredding this weekend. "Oh you snowboard?" "No, i ski" "Thats lame.".....yet they cant even boarslide a snowboard, im better than 80% the boarders at my school and i only ride like like 3 times a year, yet im like Only if you could see me shred on skis.

Sorry for the long lame post i just had to vent cuz this always pisses me off.

this. i came to realize that normally the snowboarders that hate on skiing go up like once a year and barely know what a back flip is. that being said, fuck them they piss me the fuck off

come on, everyone knows what a backflip is. the thing is, most gapers don't realize that there are infact tricks harder than a backflip. they will cheer and cheer from the lift when someone does a backflip, but a cork or rodeo comes out and they're all like ".......come on let's see another BACKFLIP WOOOOO YEAHHHHHH"

my best trick is a 180 and this still holds true for me for pretty much all the boarders i used to know (now i'm at uni i've met more chill boarders who are actually good). the slightest hint of powder/ steepness/ combination thereof and they're side slipping down/ falling/ being general gapers while i just leave them behind.

but yeah as others said, let your skis do the talking, thats what i've learned to do
