This thread is gay. Who cares. My buddy jack who shreds like none other gets his outerwear from the thrift store and shreds harder than anyone I know. Then I have a friend who grew up in Ohio and isn't very good and rocks some really nice gear. They're both cool kids though and no one cares because we all have fun. OP I think you hate the kid not the gear.

i don't really care what people wear on the mountain but i feel like kids with really nice outerwear are the ones who will be on the mountain the most so they invest in their outerwear so i kinda expect them to be better when really it doesn't matter.
try as i might, i feel like i always look like a gaper and i try to go as hard as possible so i don't think it really matters haha

Anyways, this has never really bothered me. I like to think that everyone is out on the hill for the same reason, to have a good time. It's like when a guy in a Ferrari is speeding by me on the highway(which doesn't happen often), it crosses my mind for a second that he's very well off, but the thought never really bugs me. I just reason that he has put so much money into a nice car because he's so passionate about driving. Nice stuff is simply a way people use to show pride in what they're doing. They sacrifice putting their hard earned money into something so they can show others how much they enjoy it.
