Actually what he explained was why there is a moral hazard of mixing investment and commercial banking in a context where FDIC insurance exists. He said that if FDIC insurance didn't exist it would have been ok, but since it does, it creates an environment where banks will take riskier bets.

and sadly this will never happen. Since the dawn of humanity people have been fighting over power, money, and beliefs. We're talking thousands of years of conflict, never-ending. It is in human nature itself for one to strive to be better than the other, to quest for power, to rule. It's frustrating as hell to sit and think how much we could achieve if we just gave a fuck about our planet and each other, but the majority of people just don't. I haven't just lost hope with our own countries government but with humanity itself. We are a cancer to this planet and the sooner we are gone the better.
I know this has nothing to do with RP but I don't care. All this election shit is just making me think of how pointless it is in the long run.

BTW just to throw this in there, I'm not a democrat or a republican, I'm registered as a libertarian, and I voted for and donated to Ron Paul in 2008 when I had just turned old enough to vote. I just changed a lot of my views since then but I still think RP is better than any of the other republicans and most of the democrats. I just don't believe that the free market can solve our problems (on it's own) anymore.

Absolutely not, it's one piece of huge puzzle. If I had to pick just one reason that I thought was the number one I'd pick bullshit ratings from ratings agencies. But there were lots of factors, consumers being convinced they could afford mortgages that they couldn't was a huge factor. We probably agree on the causes more than you think, but disagree on solutions.

I like many of Ron Paul's ideas, and believe that he is the only candidate that isn't having his strings pulled but he really scares me in some ways. Mainly, in his wanting to repeal the Roe vs. Wade Act as one of his first moves if voted into office as well as disbanding the EPA. He wants to completely disband the EPA and leave it up to the citizens to keep big business in check. I agree that the EPA is too big and that it's completely lost site of it's purpose/original intentions, but that does not mean that we need to do away with it entirely. It needs to be completely restructured. If the EPA is completely disbanded, we would be straight fucked from an environmental stand point. There would be virtually nothing standing in between big business and the environment. As for, Roe vs. Wade, I don't understand his change in policy on this. He used to say that he only was against 3rd trimester abortions solely because of his personal experience as a doctor and what he has seen. NOW, he says that one of his first acts in office will be to repeal that act, which was one of the most monumental woman's rights gains in our country's history. Like I said, I completely support his opinions on interventionism, the Federal Reserve, and whatnot, but those two policies of his scare the living hell out of me.

Possibly. I think in general people are becoming more "civilized" but then again, maybe not. People always compete for power and that's ok, but people get so brainwashed into a "one versus the other" mentality and forget all the great things in the middle. I have yet to find an example of where extremism has endured long term success.

You are either canadian or you are showing exactly what is wrong with youth in america and especially kids on NS. You dont care about any of this because right now for you, daddy and mommy pay for everything. So do mine, but I understand what is going on and I care about our country and I want to be able to take care of my children someday like your parents are doing for you. If the country keeps heading down the path its going now, I wont be helping my kids like my parents helped me. It wont be possible.
Why dont you get educated, go to school, practice what you learn and stop being a fucking idiot.

do you ever wonder why Ron Paul gets no media coverage???
Because he is right as fuck and everyone is scared of the truth that he holds. That being said, someone who is constantly pushed to the back burner is probably the one with the truest ideas. When I say true, I mean true to the country and its people not to the fucking big wigs that are collecting checks from Obama and the other douche bags running for the Republican spot.
Woozy as always has the nitty gritty covered pretty thoroughly so no need to get into all dat.
