I spend more time on the chairlift than i do on my skis.

Truth. I only ski grouse mountain (i know i know) because it's literally up the hill from where I live. The runs at grouse are so short that I'm done them in less time than it takes me to actually ride the ski lift (which runs mind numbingly slow). From the peak all the way to the bottom takes me only 4-5 minutes, the chairlift takes about 5-7 minutes to get up to the peak and that's if there is no line up (hardly ever except at night).

So yeah, skiing is a little boring right now unless I'm in the park hiking back up to continuously hit a rail/booter.

really? you know if you ski the top of the mountain the terrain is better and the snow is deeper and lighter and the coverage is better.

not saying that under the gondola is bad, but saying you "ALWAYS" ride under the gondola, well that's just silly.

then again - you are from Manitoba.

Unless you are only hitting grouse on weekends, i have no idea what you are talking about... grouse has some of the fastest laps around a lot of the time.

Well it's not hard considering I broke 4 of my toes after the first day of my season.

I was drunk and it was dark and I wanted to kick this ball but I missed and slammed into a concrete pole wearing moonboots.

you are a dumb privilaged motherfucker. it takes about 10 seconds to get down my hill if you bomb it, and im not even fucking around. i'd say about 70% of the people are gapers, thus causing the lift to stop about twice every time i go up. i havn't lapped the park yet this season, because the 4 jibs we have set up aren't worth it, and we don't have enough snow for jumps.

go fuck yourself privilaged vancouver kid.

It probably takes me 30 seconds (maybe less) to get from the top to the bottom of my local hill. Some fucking people...

My "mountain" takes close to 5 mins to get up the chair and sometimes less than a minute to get down any of the hills. Its not even a mountain...It was a landfil at one time...

My "local mountain" takes a half hours car drive, followed by a 3 hour wait, then a 2 hour flight, after which comes a 2 hour car journey.  I'd be stoked to have a mountain "up the hill"..

Not always. But I did find my favourite terrain where I mentioned before. And all the locals I know there say that the stuff off the Gondola is awesome. Obviously I rode the whole mountain. Also, the snow was tracked out at the top, and untouched where I was because not many people know about it.

well yeah, i'm not saying the terrain under the gondola isn't good, but you're the one who said "always". no need to continue this though, it's silly.

Thats how it always is. I live in SD and I drive an hour and half to my "mountain" for skiing from 9am-3pm. I drive for three hours to sit on a chairlift for four to five hours and actually ski two hours on a good day. And thats when the lifts aren't broken or there isn't enough snow. Thats how it goes. If you love skiing you do it anyways.

this. if u get bored smoke a bowl, change the song you're listening to, hell, visualize in your mind the tricks your gonna do(if your lapping the park). if all else fails, get a backpack, fill it with cans of beers, drink a beer every lift ride up. that will keep u occupied.

The only hill within an hour from my house takes 5 minutes to get up and 45 seconds to get down. Yeah, I timed it!

I have no fucking sympathy. You know how big my hill is? about 300 feet vertical. Stop your bitching, or stop skiing. If I straightline a run it takes about a minute to get down.

err for me its like 5 mins to get up and and about 1 minute down if im skiing park.. Like 20 seconds to get down if im not skiing park.. Your pretty well off

Im sorry about that dude. I have the same problem. The closet hill to me is 10 minutes away. The next hill is 2 hours. Batawa is the closest hill, it has 4 runs and takes less than 30 seconds to get down. Thanks for the horrendous number of newbs and slow running lifts it takes 2:30 minutes to get up the hill. So 2:30 to get up and 30 seconds to get down.

according to their site there are 8 runs... you lied! lol but for real, the hill i ride is worse, all these other people with 4 minute runs need to appreciate them!

exactly what Im saying! but about the 8 runs, its actually a demonic plot to trick people into coming. The one run is a bunny hill, the next is a short / longest run, the next is one big run they call two. they is nothing dividing it, the next is the same thing, one run, they say its two, then a small run connecting two runs, and the last long run.

I live like 3 hours from the nearest place with snow, lifts are fucking slow here, it's summer right now here in chile, and i'm going to spend a lot of money going to tahoe...there is no snow...and your are complaining about being in a lift ?? shut up...at least you're skiing

Dude, grow up. My home mountain has 13 minute lift, even with no lines, for a park that takes 3 minutes to lap on a busy day.
