What to do with spiders?

I just spotted an absolutely enormous spider in my basement and i really don't know what to do. I really don't want to kill it because it is enormous and bad ass. If i put it outside it will probably die? I think I am going to just pretend like i didn't see it. But if I'm sleeping and it crawls on me i will freak out.

well the average person eats 7-8 spiders in their sleep a year, so maybe that is what will happen

I work down in Texas-and I'm from Britain, so fuck yeah-spiders here are built to take down cattle, and I don't mess with that shit. Same goes for snakes, scorpions, Mexicans, etc...
