Greetings NS. I'm just arriving home after a run in with our old friend the police.

I got pulled over for apparently rolling through a stop sign (bullshit) and ended up getting my car searched, resulting in the discovery of my bowl and a fresh quarter ounce i purchased just earlier.

I'm just interested to see if anybody has been in any similar situations so i can get an idea of what to expect.  I live in Pennsylvania by the way and I'm going to the station to get fingerprinted tomorrow at 3.

todays cops are a new breed of poor losers who hate the rich so they go around busting private schhool parties etc.... the bronx police in the 50s were closer to soldiers than to todays dooshbag cops

Stop with the hate on cops, he is just doing his job. I know a lot of police officers and have been on many ride alongs with them. You got pulled over for rolling through that stop sign because he knew that you had just purchased weed, These cops know where it is coming from and know what to look for when. I have been in a cop car and we saw a drug deal go down, followed the person for a little bit, they forgot a turn signal, and we pulled them over. He isnt pulling you over because he wants to fuck your life over he pulled you over because he knew you had weed. The argument about whether or not weed should be legal is irrelevant because right now it is illegal and it is the officers job to enforce the law. I know officers that are for legalizing it, but they still enforce the law because it is their job.

First of all, vibes to friends and families of those involved, but I do have a problem with what you're trying to say about marijuana. I could write for days about why weed should be legalized for medical uses, but I'm not going to here. All I want to say is if the dude was growing for strictly medical purposes then the Ogden police department was wasting a bunch of time and money that could have been spent preventing real crimes and maybe this wouldn't have happened. I think the real problem with the shooting is that someone who was known to be mentally unstable was able to acquire a gun... not that the mentally unstable person was trying to medicate themselves with a plant.

I bet everyone here watched one flexyourrights video and now thinks they are an expert on the fourth amendment and when a cop can and cant search your car. Don't listen to these people they are mostly giving you false information.

We would have to have more information about the pullover to determine if the search was warranted or not. If there is reasonable suspicion, the cop has the right to ask you to step out of the car and Terry frisk you, which I assume he did. If you leave your door open that is consenting to a search of your car and will hold up in court. Smell is not nearly enough for probable cause, though cops will try to tell you this to intimidate you and trick you into letting them search your car. Never give into their false threats of bringing drug dogs down because they are mostly reserved for bomb threats, school searches, and finding a criminals who have fled crime scenes. Just keep your composure, be respectful to the officer, and do not consent to searches and everything will be usually be fine.

I also believe that police won't waste the resources on some guy with 3 plants in his house. I have zero doubt that Ogden PD/Drug Task Force had more than reasonable suspicion that something more than misdemeanor drug activities were going on. This whole situation is very infant, and I'm sure that much more info will come out.

...and I still say you should have just stopped in Utah :D

oh and yeah another thing important thats been said in this thread. if you know your car smells like weed you need to be very careful about obeying traffic laws. its so easy to take that extra 2 minutes to slow er down and not worry about getting fucked with criminal charges.

update-I just got back from the station where the same officer fingerprinted me and questioned me a whole bunch about dealers in my area.  He kept telling me how if I can organize a bust for them i can get my charge cut down to disorderly conduct.  Before anyone calls me a rat I avoided giving out any names and just tried to play the oblivious innocent stoner card.

What I thought was weird though was that at the scene of the crime last night he let us drive home without issuing any sort of citation or anything, and even after going in today all he told me was what i might be charged with.

Is this normal? He told me he would call me in a couple of days with an update on my situation.

My apologies if I seem somewhat uneducated on the subject, this is the first time i've ever dealt with the law to this degree.

HOLY SHIT YES THEY ARE. Your rights that protect you from search and seizure are subject to certain conditions. Ever heard of a field sobriety test? A cop honestly needs NO real reason to give one, yet if you are sober and refuse you lose your license for 1 year (in WA state, but I'm sure it's similar elsewhere). I field sobriety test is a SEARCH OF YOUR BODY. People have a "high expectation of privacy" for their bodies, meaning that the police need a VERY good reason to search your body. When you are behind the wheel, police have a very good reason for searching your body and car because you put other's lives in danger. It's called a balancing test. The safety of others on the road is viewed as more important than your right to privacy. THE SEARCH WILL ALMOST ALWAYS HOLD UP IN COURT. If a cop wants to search your car and you refuse, he will call a judge or bring in the dogs to get a warrant or probable cause. Moral of the story: DON"T CARRY ILLEGAL SHIT IN YOUR CAR UNLESS IT'S WELL HIDDEN AND IT WON'T BE FOUND IN A SEARCH. YOUR CAR IS VERY LIABLE TO BE SEARCHED WITHOUT WHAT WE WOULD CONSIDER A "GOOD REASON".

I've been pulled over WHILE SMOKING A JOINT and used that line after being asked several questions and answering everything politely, honestly and concisely beginning and ending with a "sir"...  Was given a downgraded speeding  ticket and sent on my way with a smile, a wave and a "have a nice day" from the guy.  It's all in how you present yourself as well as how you react.  One iota of attitude or sketchiness and you're fucked.  Simple as that.  Get with the program or get fucked.  Your choice, just don't blame someone else for being too good at their job.

Is this your first attempt at reading?  Not only did this actually happen, I drove away with a reduced speeding fine and relit my joint about 2 minutes down the road for keeping a staright face during my cheesiness.  You're right though- I should have put that stupid fucking pig in his place like the thug I am, what a twat I am for working that angle and getting off damn near scott-free.  I'll have to remember your advice the next time I want to get fucked in my asshole with a baton by the romantic glow of the flashing lightbars, lose my weed and gain some criminal records for my street cred.

You should be pissed with yourself not the cops for doing their job. Jesus only children blame others when they get caught red handed and knew the risks. Not to mention the cop obviously did not use the stop sign as probable cause. Theres more to this story then your telling. I bet you had no idea how to handle it and gave consent

You forfeited those rights when you allowed the man consent to search. Which most NSers are bullied into giving eventually. Never let a cop in your car. not consenting to a search is your right, and cannot be used as grounds for a warrant. Dont act sketchy, be polite, be on your fucking toes. Cops play mind games, you have to be good.


If the cop decided you rolled through the stop sign youre pretty much getting that ticket. Make a better effort to stop when cops are around. Even then you can get fucked but you really cant get around that.

Should have never let them in your car. Theres like a millions videos on that sort of thing, flex your rights and other groups. Check them out, read up on the laws, make a plan of how to talk to cops.


The sooner you learn that the better. T the same time dont be stupid. Being overly cautious seems useless to most kids but it will save your ass. All you need is that one time to go wrong and being cautious would have been so fucking worth it. Dont leave bowls in your car in the open, dont store shit in you glove box if you keep you registration in there(should be obvious but people do this all the time), get a case for you pipe and hide it so its not visible as a pipe even if it ends up in the open, dont clambake your car all the time(open them windows) If youre driving with shit have your story straight so you dont sound like a sketchy dumbass when you get pulled over.



I try to stress this to the youth of ns but it never gets through. I can post some more info/ links to sites and video after i take a nap.



Just be careful. Recklessness is looked at as cool. Its stupid, be careful out there. When you avoid trouble even once you'll be glad you took a few extra steps to be smart.

some cops are chill as fuck though. i got caught drifing around a big parking lot at night in the snow.

got caught with no insurance (on me), wasn't my car, plates were covered with snow, and reckless driving. total was about $800 and 6 dimarit points (would have lost my lisence for 5 years)

but since im only 16 and "seem like a nice kid" the popo let me ride off with nothing! but he did call my mom and she though it was funny.

im just lucky they didnt catch us with my 15 year old friend driving while i was getting pulled behind on my skis.
