nah he ended up keeping his job in virginia. But we were possibly going to get a party house. Ended up rooming with a kid who works at another mountian up here.


But they came the day after this happened. Like they all decended on the place. Which was kind of something on its own, but with this wasnt that fun. And his parents own the places so I was getting hassled less than 24 hours after it happened for not having a concrete idea about every aspect of everything even though i said I wanted to keep renting th place. Even after I signed a new lease agreement they still sort of were on me.


and pretty much any hopefulness I had was met with a be realistic, surgery is horrible your going to pretty much die and your going to be out for way longer than you think, you'll be in horrible shape for a few weeks, and youll barely be able to move for months. You have no idea how actually slight the exageration is on that. IT was a constant buzzkill party. I mean i can understand being reasonable but damn. Saying that I was hoping to be able to ride a little bit in arpil was like saying I was hoping to be able to fly like a bird. And the thought that I'm planning on trying to get into checking tickets, aka standing at the base area on flat grouns (which the mountain is okay withm and the doc seems to think I should be able to do in 2 weeks if things go alright) was met with the same.


I mean damn, at least wait till I get my surgery for the buzzkil party. Even if I was riding some ridiculous wave of false hopes, give me a couple days to ride it.


Theyre the ski 3 times a year form mass people though. Doesnt even make sense to them.


Also got the same fatherly attemp of a speech 2 or 3 times about how "if he was my father he would tell me I was coming home and staying home for the rest of the season". Like cool bean dude, who cares.

I found out all the information from the mountain and the doctors brought papers between each of them so that they wuld each no the situation, and i told this kids parents everything as I found it out, and signed their beefed up leese agreement.


I mean damn. Just kind of sucks when eveyrhtings going like shit and people are around you all day for a couple days tyring their best to bring oyu down further. I mean shit a couple months ago I was barely making it to winter and could wait to have a rake in my hand and some rails to hit so I wouldn't go insane, and now thats pretty muchs done for the season other than some possible spring laps, but if course them shitty on me really helped. glad they went back to mass this morning instead of staying till tomorrow.

So I feel like they're almost trying to boot me out of here. So I'm hoping the surgery goes well then I need to get the rent transfered to them, and follow up with the doc and the mountain and try to get back up here working soon so I dont loose my house. Good times. This winter has been wonderful.

And to unrant the end. NYE and the night before were amazing. moe. played osme of the best sets I've seen ever. Such a great time with good friends. Also gdradio has me feeling alright.

Shattered clavicle. On the xrays I can only see like 3 or 4 different breaks really. the one one is floating below the two, and two are overlapping pretty bad though. so maybe just broken in a few spots?


But I'm getting a plate and some screws put in to hold everything together.


Originally they were just going to use a standard titanium plate and the surgery would run about 15k but i decided to upragrde to the jiberish plate with hot pink screws for 16k.

gonna be so worth it. They only made 10 or them for the year and I snagged one before they even went on the site

lol true. Its not so bad. I just feel like I'm going backward. I was pumped to be getting out of ny again for a while. Then the season didnt start and my move date got pushed back a full month. I haven't even been here a full month. Hopefully everything goes good and I can get back up here soon. Even if its just checking tickets I'll be happy to finish out the season working and keeping my place up here.

You'll be golden before you know it. A steady diet of PK's blunt's and beers will be whatcha need to get you better after the surgery. That and rehabilitation/physical training.

oh and after reading rant #2 just keep in mind that surgeons and doctors in general have to be conservative in their rehab estimates. they don't want to get your hopes up, and they especially don't want you acting on unrealistic estimates, getting hurt again and trying to sue. not to mention optimistic young bodies tend to heal pretty fast, so don't lose all hope just yet.

no blunts or beers for me. And yeah thats the part I'm more nervouse about. They seem to think they got it so not really sweating it too hard but thats something thats concerned me for the last couple years. I have wierd reactions to things these days thats why i had to stopped smoking over 2 years ago. Thats why I stopped drinking in august. My brain is in a wierd state. Even have wierd reactions to some pain killers.


But as long as they know everything, which I told all of them everything, and they got it I'm cool with it. IT was just sort of someting I'd been fearing hearing for a couple years so getting the info about the xrays and hearing the words surgery had a lot of built up tension.


Hopefully I wont have to have any other surgeries for other stuff in the future but at least if this goes well itll def give me more confidence going into any other ones if ever needed or just in knowing that itll all be good.

surgery is chill. just get a nice IV and crash out hard and then wake up instantly in the future and its done.i bet you feel normal with a plate after 2 weeks, i was skiing at 3 with no surgery...kinda dumb on my part.

that was my roomates fam. doctors seem pretty optomistic.

I've gotten surgery a couple times, once with an IV, the other when I was too young. It's not bad at all you go out in less than 10 seconds after they put the IV in. Waking up is fun/weird too cuz you're so damn out of it. You're eyes wake first then feeling slowly comes back for everything else. It's kinda cool, although I took way too long to wake up fully. I'm getting surgery within the next few weeks for my torn meniscus in my knee (I get an MRI today tho). So I'll be out for a bit too so I feel ya man. I just got off my cast for a broken arm too. Yea, im a wreck. It's just recovery from surgery and PT that's a pain.

So everything is going alright. My parents made it to nh alright. They were late getting me to the hospital but thats just how they roll. So the doctors were cool, I lost all my wook wrisbands from 2011 fests, but whatever. Made jokes with everyone seems like everyone know wht theyre doing and it will go smooth right? WRONG. So not until after I'm all back awake and patched up do I see the rays. Heres where shit gets fucked. So I see the xrays and not only is the plate smaller than what we had talked about, it's fucking last years model. Like wtf kind of operation are they running there? How can they still be in business? They sure as fuck have'nt heard the last of me. Charging full price for old shit? That's just shit business practice. Did they think I didn't notice? I'm not some average gaper customer or some poor noob bitch. I have access to several of my moms credit cards including her platinum.

It's def not the worst winter to be missing. I half expected to get 3 feet of powder the day after it happened though. Hoping to at least get out with a camera sometime not terribly far away. Def keep me updated on the dew tour shit. Def would be good times to see everyone again plus my schedule isn't that exciting at the moment.

in terms of staying in shape when i seperated the shoulder i just focused on getting as much cardio as i could on the bike, and with the acl surgery i just had,  im just focusing on upper body...as well as PT.  stay positive if there was any season to miss itd be this one.

those jiberish plates are such high quality. Hand-made titanium and the fit is so on point.

Ive had 3 surgeries, one major reconstruction of my shoulder joint joint, and 2 minor surgeries(wisdom teeth, jaw surgery). The major reconstruction was one of the worst experiences ive ever had in my life, largely in part to me tearing some of the sutures holding stuff together a week after surgery when i slipped a little in the shower and instinctually tried to regain balance.




What sucks: i am super duper sensitive to anesthesia and so 2 of the 3 times i have felt awful after(think your worst hangover ever) and puked a few times. the other time i just woke up super drunk.

the pain can be awful and you want to keep up with the medication. personally, the pills dont do much for me other than make me sleep(if i take a lil too much i get super neasous too), so i found that a few tokes completely nuetralizes the pain AND keeps me awake. i dont get high, just 3-4 small hits help me infinitly more than pers, norcos, or dilaudin.

I am a stomach sleeper, but the surgery forced me to sleep on my back. it was cool the first few days, because the pills knocked me out immidiatly but it was a pain later down the road. as well, you will find that there are only 1-2 positions to lay in that are actually comfortable so you will be in those constantly for a few weeks, which can lead to you developing postural problems so make sure you get up off your ass once in a while.

Slow is smooth, and smooth is fast. do EVERYTHING deliberatly and carefully, you really do not want to reinjure it or tweak it.


The good: pills can be fun for some, look up Cold Water Extraction and use it so you dont stress your liver too much. pick out a few TV series youve heard was good, and find a place to stream it online. Also really, really try and keep your cardio vascular strength up. It will help your ability to recover, and increase circulation. just go for a walk, or a one handed bike ride, something that is smooth but gets a little sweat going.


You will be fine. the last thing you will see is a cute smiling nurse putting an oxygen mask on you, and the next thing you know you will wake up absolutely shitfaced, with people giving you all sorts of directions that you dont really want to comply with, but just do it. It is all up to you what your experience will be.
