Pond Hockey

Alright, so up here in NH it just got really cold and all the ponds froze real quick and are now skate able.
So pond hockey is a sweet option after school for a few hours.

Anyways. Who here just loves the feeling of stepping out on a pond just you some friends and a net or 2 and just playing some fun pick up hockey. cause right behind skiing pond hockey is my favorite activity.

Went down to the free rink in Colorado to school some people in Hockey but no one there.

Grew up playing hockey on a rink we plowed on our lake. Damn good times. Been looking to get back into it but Utah lacks frozen bodies of water :(

with all my friends, pond hockey is pretty much every weekend. we have a pond lit up with flood lights, a small change room and a fire pit at a buddys house. Always makes for a good time.

This year though has been really shit. pond hasnt been frozen yet.

I used to play it alot on our pond we have right on our place. But we sold our Massey and now own a much heavier case tractor. We had put the Massey through the ice once before while clearing the snow with the blower. (only ever happened once) now our new tractor is three times the weight so it's really scary to clear the snow, which sucks cause we end up not bothering with it.

well with our shitty temps its been a little rough getting the outdoor rinks nice here in MN...but pond hockey is the best, its fun to go watch the pond hockey championships in MN.

With no snowfall, I walked on my first frozen lake while driving over Tioga Pass in Yosemite. Definitely an experience you don't really get here in California.

There's a really nice outdoor rink that's a five minute walk away, I've been playing a whole lot lately. Sticks in the middle with a bunch of friends is always good times!

We play on a friends property but the pond isn't near frozen yet, there is a rink nearby outside that I heard is open but with temps around 55 today that looks like it's fading fast.

Played lots last year though, flood lights and some brews and we'd play well into the night.

This year not so much though, frickin mid atlantic, I guess PAPONDHOCKEYSUCKS too.

i love some pond hockey on a nice cold day, but unfortunately New York sucks and we havent had enough cold weather for the lakes and ponds to freeze over....blows

Free outdoor ice rink next to my school and I make one in my backyard every year. Unfortunately I'm out this winter till like March due to a torn meniscus in my knee :'(

just played for 4 hours ate then played 2 more with 7 other friends. makes for some great times... ice was sketch though. my buddy fell through in the very far corner of his pond. but 98% of the pond was just fine.

that is the best part of pond hockey anywhere around the boards (if there are boards) is typically shit, adds a new element to the game.

I played over 40 days last year, it's my favorite thing to do. It gets pretty heated some times with English vs. French kids. Sadly I'm living in + temps this winter though.

not gonna lie.. so jelly.

i have only played prob 13 games of hockey on ice. and it was at the outdoor rink in CO when i lived there
got my ass kicked. by my fuck was it fun.


played more roller and street hockey and broom ball then i can count



just when you think hockey you do not think oregon... except eastern oregon where they can have rinks. but im not gonna drive 300 miles to skate.

My hockey friends just went up to Tahoe for some pond hockey as there is so little snow up there right now. Looked like a lot of fun.
I feel like some pond broom ball now :)

ya i was gonna say you should give it a few more days! you need a few inches under you feet.. not could enough here in pa yet, my one buddies pond was starting to freeze up but then it got warm again... owell i play at 3 different indoor rinks for at least an hour everyday usually.
