I moved home for the holidays to finish school, but the only thing that didn't come with me were my boots, skis and poles as they were too big to fit on the train. My parents were going to get them at the end of the month but with the way the weather is going in Manitoba that is too long. I have no clue what I need to do to ship them home.
A box is definatly a good start. Probably want one for skis and one for boots. A local ski shop is a great place to ask for a ski box. Otherwise UPS stores sell them.
Yeah see the thing is, I'm not where my skis are; they're with my uncle. I can't buy a box for them myself. It's my fault for not doing it before I left..
I guess I'll phone canada post to see if they have a box big enough for them...

Give your uncle money to buy a cheap ski bag (a 10 euro model) and a box.
Specify them online first so he knows exactly what to buy.
Skis are pretty strong, Only things that can really get damaged are the edges.
You could definitely paypal or send your uncle money to get everything all set up for you, you could even give him a little extra for the hassle if you wanted.
I don't know how you're uncle is, but I would definitely ship my nephew skis for sure. As long as my nephew could cover the costs for shipping and whatnot eventually.
Update: My skis came with my uncle to my grandparents for Ukrainian Christmas. They live in Yorkton which is halfway between Saskatoon and Winnipeg which is where I am. I phoned them and they said they'd try to ship them to me.
