Forward mounted skis?

So basically, i had my punx center mounted to a size 27.5 boot. I realized my boot was too big (got them from a friend for free) and got some SPK 90s in a 26. I adjusted the binding to 26 and they pretty much moved about 20mm forwards from the center. Now does this make much of a difference? Should i remount them or am i just over thinking this?

you adjusted the bindings and the toe moved? forward?
I mean if you get a smaller boot and move just the heel then you will be a tiny bit in front of centre but not more than 5mm i wouldn't think, because normally you wouldn't move the toe, just the heel. What was the change in boot sole length? What binding?

What's the BSL for the two boots in question. I have a hard time believing that 27.5 is 20mm longer than a 26. You would likely be fine at +1cm from true center, but +2cm seems like a bit too much. If a remount is needed, at least it's only the toe piece that gets new holes.

The BSL of the atomic boots is 325 and my SPKs are 307... So that 18mm...

And to the other guy i moved the heel piece forward, and they're rossignol axial2.

Yeah, that is quite a difference. I would remount the toe piece. New holes 18mm apart won't be an issue.

Except you didn't move the whole location of the bindings, so you are not 18 mm ahead of center. You are only 9 mm ahead.

Good point.

In that case, I would ski it like that for a few days to see how that mount position felt. Who knows, maybe you won't even notice.

Bump to this thread because I didn't want to make another one on the same topic.

I got new boots today, I went from a 315 BSL to a 302 BSL. The skis were center mounted. All I did is adjust the heel piece to correct the forward pressure. How many millimeters does that put me from center?

I'm not looking into getting a re-mount. More of the nerd in me wanting to know?
