Pyramid Discovery: Rewriting History

A pyramid has been discovered in Bosnia-Herzegovina that is larger, older and more perfectly oriented than Egypt’s Great Pyramid of Giza. Located near the city of Visoko, not only is it the first pyramid to be discovered in Europe, but it is also the largest valley of pyramids in the world.

Its discoverer, Dr. Semir Osmanagich, has also identified pyramids in Asia, Africa, North America and even islands such as Mauritius and Tahiti. He believes these man-made structures are so similar that they prove there was communication during ancient times over vast distances. “Our history books must be re-written,” he said.

The pyramid in Bosnia-Herzegovina has been dated at over 12,000 years old, and it also features the largest complex of underground tunnels ever discovered.

Looked him up on wikipedia, he sounds like a nutter.

Believe that the Maya were descended from Atlanteans:

The guy may seem nutty but his nutty thoughts proved to be legitimate when he claimed "hills" in bosnia weren't hills but in fact ancient pyramids. Everyone said nah nah nah this guy is crazy. But not so crazy now seeing as though this could be one of the most significant archealogical of all of time.

Just read this on the smithsonian website : "His views of world history—described in his books published in Bosnia—are unconventional. In The World of the Maya, which was reprinted in English in the United States, he writes that "Mayan hieroglyphics tell us that their ancestors came from the Pleiades....first arriving at Atlantis where they created an advanced civilization." He speculates that when a 26,000-year cycle of the Maya calendar is completed in 2012, humankind might be raised to a higher level by vibrations that will "overcome the age of darkness which has been oppressing us." In another work, Alternative History, he argues that Adolf Hitler and other Nazi leaders escaped to a secret underground base in Antarctica from which they did battle with Adm. Richard Byrd's 1946 Antarctic expedition."

just to clarify, this guy is not the first one to associate them as being pyramid shaped.


He's the first to propose this particular theory. And he doesn't have much of a reputation as a historian to back him up on any account.

So what your trying to tell me is back in Gr.9 when, on my exam, I said that the Pyramid of Giza is not the largest in the world and my history teacher failed me on my essay, and said to stop trying in school because I was dumb, and so I did. But I was right? If I were to try the rest of my high school career I would have been in university, and making 6 figures, rather than being homeless and having to use the computer at the local library to go on ns?

does anyone else find it weird that this massive pyramid shaped hill was just "discovered" now. I mean, wouldnt people have noticed it there and how oddly perfectly pyramidal it is. by the looks of it theres a little town in the bottom left and nobody there thought "hey that hill looks very pyramid-shaped" till this guy came along?

I forgot that it was a team researching some "mysterious ultrasonic vibrations" but here's the thread. They've been helping on escavating the pyramid but it seems they've run out of economic support to continue their efforts.

inb4 it's from a conspiracy theory forum. keep in mind that this is a ski forum and has no more or less credibility aside from the fact that the people posting that thread are actually working on the grounds.

i am not saying aliens or gods or whatever, i just think that there are lots of flaws in our picture of the world.

my quasi-stepbrother studies archaeology. have you ever wondered how scientists identify those gods/demons/historical figures on coins, paintings and engravings where you can see horseshit?

well they do not. he told me that A LOT of times they just take something as given and have literally no facts for it. and even if they have facts, they have no clue how in that day and age people perceived "truth" and what the purpose of writings and other documents of any form was.

with that being said, we dont know too much about most ancient civilizations FOR ABSOLUTE FACT and even if some people say it is, its still highly speculative.



of course aliens could have visited us earlier. it would be kinda lame because they didnt do a whole lot apparently, but i have no problem when someone says so, because it is definitely possible and not the "no-evidence is evidence" theory of religious people.

in any way, ancient people were a lot more intelligent then we would like to think. no matter where that intelligence came from. and i think we dont talk about that because christianity did so much to prevent mass education over the years (dark ages, galileo, etc)

This is so important to remember too.

The bible was written 2000 years ago, that is a blink of an eye in an evolutionary timescale.
People back then were just as clever and able as we are today, its just that now we have a better collective understanding of science, medicine etc which tricks us into thinking we are more intelligent and more advanced biologically. Basically the only thing separating our brains from theirs is wikipedia.

Chaucer is one of the greatest poets ever, initially people overlooked a lot of the clever writing and talent displayed in his poems because it was assumed that the arts were not advanced then as they were now; this is not true. Medieval people were incredibly smart, its amazing that we overlook that at times.

The fact that the ancient greeks could develop such incredible philosophy proves it in one way; as the art of thinking, we're no better now than we were then. The philosophers that formed the basis for where we are now could be said to be even more intelligent because they could even imagine thinking about thinking before anyone else.

and most stuff that doesnt fit is just put into another, more advanced era.

you can only date a few specific objects or materials. other stuff is completely impossible to date.


a good example is that weird hammer that is completely in 150 billion year old rocks. how do you explain that? yeah, noone really tries, its just a fake? i am not saying that this hammer is 150 million years old, i am just saying that there is no way that people will change their views of history and the world in general. or those nano-spirals in russia. i am not saying that some kind of aliens dropped them off or the hammer because that would be lame, but everything that is not fitting the beliefs is pushed away and labeled fake.

or the antikythera-thingy. this is a navigation instrument used by the greeks that couldnt be reproduced theoretically until 1600 or so. and noone talks about it. sad. just like "our" 2011 human race is the best one ever.
