i just got some Line poles, and they are pretty big and I was going to cut them down. But does anyone know how to take off the grips without ruining them?
just put them in boiling water, there's like 10 threads of this a week. there's one in gear talk right now i think. caution, boiling water is... boiling hot.
Don't do this, use a hair dryer to heat the grip or boil it in water, stick it in a door and pull the grip of. Cut to where you want it (make sure they are even stevens) and then hammer the grips back on.
What I did to repaint my poles was take a 5-gal bucket of water and run hot water only, let the hot run till its steaming in the bucket then stick your poles in and let them soak. For a minute will do. After that take em out and just man up and pull em off. They may have to go back into the water a few times but this will take them off.
use a hair dryer like most people said heat until you can slip the grop off (obviously) cut to desired high and slip the grip back on. they will stick back. at least the grips on my pins stuck back and wouldnt come off
turn your stove a little bit under its highest mode, then hover it about 4-5 inched above the stove top until you see a little bit of smoke. then, pull the grip as hard as possible and it will come right off. ive done it a few times with mine
