Also if you go there what are the fraternities like? would dorms be better or worse?

Yeah dude don't go to utah. The skiing, climbing, biking, and camping all suck, everyone's a religious wacko who will try and convert you, and there is literally no such thing as alcohol or weed. You should go to Colorado instead

I thought hood crew would have shown you a good time. I would rank it a 7. It definitely isnt huge ragers every weekend but it can get rowdy for sure. It's also not hard to get alcohol at all especially if you know where to go unless it's a Sunday and then it blows sooo yeah.

You dont know man.... Parties in Utah can hang with most big schools in the country, especially U of O. Alcohol isn't hard to get..... like at all, neither is weed. Dont go scaring people off. The party scene is fine.

Yes....... he's saying 7 is too high. I'm not being sarcastic, the party scene isn't bad, assuming you have friends. If you are looking some ASU Bro Frat house ragers every Tuesday night, yes, dont come to Utah. Otherwise, dont sweat it. Not only are parties prevelant, but there are plenty of other rad, sober activities to distract you from the party scene.

Not true. You will be in an ME specific class from your very first semester. We built robots that drove and launched marshmallows last semester. It's pretty fun, but it is quite a bit of work.

First semester of ME is very easy.  The only moderately difficult class you will have is chemistry.  The program has changed slightly since my freshman year with the new spiral learning curriculum.  I would suggest not taking LEAP.  Also, if you have to take writing 2010 in the spring semester, maybe take that in the fall.  Engineering classes are very easy to skip to go skiing, but a lot of the generals take attendance.

Searching for a potential roommate for summer and fall semester next year....I like mountain biking, csmping, off roadimg, hiking, going to snogression and tramping and hitting up the lake,,,,I have jet skis and a big truck for camping and hiking..not a huge partier but don't mind the scene.....................get at me

Not sure what LEAP class you took, mine was 3 days a week at 910, took attendance, was boring as shit, i had such a hard time getting motivated to do anything in that class.

Mine was two days a week at 3 and I had two essays to write and only one big group assignment that was super easy. + engineering LEAP is required for Chemical Engineering anyways

BUMP- I'm applying soon, I'm not worried about getting I'm but how hard are scholarships/ financial aid for out of state? I have around a 3.33 gpa (unweighted ) and I'm in all honors so weighted is somewhere around a 3.6- I got an 1850 on the SAT, reading + math was a 1240.

you will probably get some scholarships but not a lot. You really shouldn't worry about that TOO much though, as the U will be considerably cheaper than just about any other decent school you could chose. Just get in state after your first year and it becomes crazy cheap.
