Boarding Ski Schools in VT

Anyone know any boarding schools that is near some really good mountains, one with good parks. Maybe one near Stratton? Or Stowe? but Stowe is a little to far up for me. So any suggestions? +k normal rules

Mount Snow Academy is better if you are interested in the skiing aspect because it is at a better mountain, but Stratton Mountain School has a better school. I have no idea what Killington Mountain School is like. All the coaches are mad chill though.

SMS is the biggest in Vermont, but MSA is way sicker. We have two coaches and a way better park.

MSA sounds sick, but my parents are big in academics so SMS sounds good. Although MSA look like a lot more fun imo

you should go with what ever is more fun, because you are not going to get better if you are not having fun, but i guess it comes down to the parents in the end of it.

The thing about SMS is,

Their freestyle coach is Jesse Malis.
Not only is he a nice guy, but he coached:
Parker White
Jack Borland
Chris Logan
Ian Compton

and many others.

If you really want to get good while having a super awesome coach and a really prestigious academic ciriculum, then SMS is your best option.

The MSA head coach is Riche Paradise who replaced Jesse Malace. I know both of them rely well and would say that Riche is the way to go. Again, im not trying to tell you not to go some where rather than just ski with both teams for at least a day before you make up your mind.

im not gonna be picky about teams an coaches unless they really suck. Anything is fine for me ski team wise, all i need is a mountain to ski an im pleased

Just throwing the suggestion out there. Vermont Academy is another boarding school with a newly started, growing freeride program. They ski at Okemo and compete in USSA slope events. I have a couple of friends who have gone through that program and I know the head coach well. Thought it would be helpful for you to consider that cuz I didn't think anyone else had thrown it out there.

I am thinking about going to Vermont Academy next year, because I have met the coach Chris Marks and saw how cool of a coach he is, but VA does ski at two mountains that do not even come close to mount snow. They also have school on saturdays which can get in the way with competitions. The advantage to this is longer breaks. I think they get a christmas break of about 4 weeks, and that is a great 4 weeks to go skiing.

also are you sure you want to go to ski school? what is most important to you?
also maybe check out some schools in nh and me like gould academy in bethe l(sunday river)

they are as hard as you want them to be. that being said, they have some very accomplished teachers. head to their website to see what some of the teachers have accomplished. If you do well there, you can get into any college or university you want.

this. Jesse is the MAN. he kills it as a coach and is a super nice, rad dude. Stratton Mountain School's snowboard and park skiing programs both drive the easy 20 minute drive to Mount Snow everyday. SMS also has an indoor skate park and tramp and they plan on starting to build another indoor skatepark and dryslope with a foam pit very similar to woodward at copper. This is my 6th year at SMS in the racing program but i've chilled with Jesse and skied with him a bunch and you really couldn't get a better coach, or a better facility. MSA is cool too but if your parents are into the academic side of things SMS is the way to go.

if you like the academics at your school and you're fine with being in NH instead of VT and skiing 6 days a week with school on 5 Waterville is a sweet place to be and to compete with the Mt. Snow claims, our coaches put out both Martinis, Vila, Warnick, hathaway, clarke and i'm probably forgetting a few but thats not the point, ski 6 days a week travel the nation and we have a dryslope ramp to a bagjump and private tramps
