i just got dumped for skiing too much and not spending enough time with my girl.

why cant i find a girl that will actually want to come skiing with me and loves it as much as i do.

Haha I havent worn it this year yet! I was in tight black jeans and a black moment jacket but she was in tight snow pants, a tallish white jacket, and some pick goggles. I must find her.

I heard today about a resort near Osaka (Japan) that somehow has managed to attract predominately girls, bucking the trend of male dominated ski towns everywhere else in the world. My friend visited as soon as he heard about it, and said it was amazing!

Heading there may not be entirely practical dating advice, but still, maybe if NS hookups fails give it a go.

My girl is a stronger skiier then most of the people we shred with. Not much into park, but she will try shit, she really slays in the BC and will drop mad cliffs and pillows erryday.

i know from my experience that basing a relationship on minimal things like hobbys (no matter how important it is) WILL NOT WORK.


skiing shouldnt be anyones life alone.

from my experiences, when i dated a guy who didn't ski, he always questioned why I didn't "choose him over skiing" he wanted me to stay home on weekends rather than skiing, and I would just explain how I can't miss a weekend of skiing..i've been going skiing every weekend my whole life I'm not gonna change that for one person. So yea, they didn't really understand why I always wanted to go skiing, and thought I was prioritizing skiing over the relationship. Someone who does ski, would more likely understand the situation

relationships are all about compromise. it's unrealistic to expect that he shares absolutely every interest that you do, and if you can't miss a weekend of skiing to spend time with him, you're doing it wrong. or, you need to find someone who is extremely forgiving and appeases your selfish ways, letting you do whatever you want and just going with it.

you gotta move to places where skiers wanna be you probably live in wisconsin or somthing and ski a 50 foot mountain and cant even backflip so she doesnt see wats cool about it

go to bc or utah or somting and shred the big boy park and shred some big mountain and u will find girls into that kinda shit

but ur probably not good enough to impress them ne ways

My girl skis almost as much as I do. We ski together quite a bit...she can actually really rip with the boys.

Yesterday I got a phone call from a homie wanting to go ride. I was supposed to help my girl clean, run errands, etc. I told her that we were going to have to scrap that because I was going skiing and all of the other shit will still be there later. She literally said, "it's cool - go skiing for awhile. I'm not going to go because I don't feel well, so I'll take care of things around here. Go have fun."

She fucking rocks.

All this stuff about "it's clearly your fault because you can't compromise and don't have priorities" is weak. If your girl is guilting you about doing the things you love to do, that's not somehow your fault for failing to make time for her at the expense of you actually enjoying your life. Pow days is pow days, if a breezy can't understand that it isn't going to work out.

Also I don't think wanting a girl who will go skiing with you is all that good a thing. The guy who can't go shred with the rest of the crew because he's spending the day riding mellow with his girlfriend is always looked upon with pity. If you actually manage to find one of the ones who can hold her own, more power, but they're very few and far between and generally not single. Supply and demand.

fine. i just know that a relationship needs more than a common hobby. if you want to say that a common passion COULD signal general keeper status, then ok, but it alone is not enough.

seriously, mad claim here but i have done my fair share of "that" one skier chick at the mountain and its not worth it.

It's not my life alone, but it's a big part of it. It's my job as well as my hobby, I seriously could not have a long term relationship with someone who doesn't ski/board. Particularly because I choose to live where it snows and follow the winters from the Northern to the Southern hemisphere. I'm sure it's the same for many others.
