Where did you guys mount your jj's?

i read some thread on tgr about how you should measure 82.5 cm's to find the line from the tail? (I realize there is a line there but apparently its not always accurate.) this thread was from 2009 so i figured i would ask to see if anything has changed.

did you mount yours on the line? never had a ski like this and i'm looking not to fuck up when i mount them. am i just over thinking it?

and i searched and googled.

I've got my at the recommended mounting point, i think its like -5 cm from center but i could be way off

I have mine at 2.5 back from center. they will feel a little hooky at first but I learned to love them. If i were to mount them again i would probly go 4 back from center that seems about right.

yea recommended is -5 from center. i just have no idea where to mount them at all. i was thinking +2 from the recommended line but now i'm not sure

i got mine 2.5 back from center

If your going to be jumping and skiing any switch with them I'd go there.
If your just skiing pow and not spinning off things, 5 back would be perfect

I had mine mounted first at 2cm back from true center but after my heel piece ripping out a few times I had to re mount them with new bindings and because the holes lined up a little weird I had them mounted at 0.5cm back from true center and they ski fine. Maybe not ideal but I would never mount them at 5cm back.

I have mine mounted a -2 from true centre. I would mount them at true center if i was mounting them again but i can't be bothered and you can only mount them twice because of the ultralight wood core (correct me if i'm wrong)

First time around, I mounted at -2,5, which was fun, but when I got my new AK JJ's with dukes, I went for recommended, which is -5. I've only skied them for less than 10 minutes so far, so I can't really tell the difference yet, but looking at them, you still have alot of tail when mounted at -5. Recommended is recommended for a reason though, and it's what Armada thinks is best in regards of sidecut, unless you ski alot switch.

you must not ski hard at all.

i absolutely love my jj's but they it is impossible to load the tips at all they are super divey.


op you should have went with -5.

Mount them at the recommended of -5cm unless your name is T Hall or Jacob Wester.

Take a gummy stone to the tip and tails past the contact points to avoid that hooking sensation. You only need them to be sharp along the effective edge.
