Cannon t2i vs nikon 3100

I just bought a nikon 3100 and I'm wondering how much better the cannon t2i is because i can return my 3100 and get the t21 for 30 more dollars.

i personally like the t2i more, probably because i own it though.... if you have any interest in video go get that canon.

i would say 60% video 40% pictures. Ive read lots of forums about them and the major difference in video is the nikon has continuous auto focus but I've heard it was slow and doesn't work well so i don't know if it would even help. and the cannon is 18mp vs 15mp of the nikon is that a big difference?

I like my T2i a lot. My friend shoots with a 3100 and I dont like it, but that could just be because I'm not used to it.

Video is better on T2i

I like my d5100 for photos though

Im not more used to a nikon or cannon but from a quality of pictures/ video any noticeable difference?

t2i can shoot 720@60p which is dope for slow mo. Nikon does 24 and 30 at various dimentions.

switch to canon with that ratio. the af is useless, don't bother. canon will give you much much better options for video. plus i've heard the nikon interface for video on a d3100 is pretty bad.

little bit extra and you can get the t3i with the flip out screen and better video. mostly though it's about canon vs nikon, I'd go with canon all the way

its not.. the only differences between the t2i and the t3i is the flip out screen and the t3i has a "digital zoom" feature

sorry for the double post but if you're looking at the t2i vs t3i, get the t2i and save the money for lenses, stabilization, audio etc..

t3i has an identical video chip as the 7d, in fact they're almost the same camera except that the 7d has a better build. The flip out screen is also way more useful than you'd think. Video quality is unmatched except for the 5d. Check out some research here: http://www.dpreview.com/products/canon/slrs/canon_eos600d http://www.dpreview.com/prodcts/canon/slrs/canon_eos7d

And if you need evidence in the final product just look up the millions of videos on vimeo shot on any canon slr, especially the 7d.

I have the D3100 and I love it. I take prob 50% vid 50% photo. Takes great pictures and I love the video on it. I film with two of them because my friend has one and I cant complain at all about it. If you have any questions pm me
