i would say 60% video 40% pictures. Ive read lots of forums about them and the major difference in video is the nikon has continuous auto focus but I've heard it was slow and doesn't work well so i don't know if it would even help. and the cannon is 18mp vs 15mp of the nikon is that a big difference?
switch to canon with that ratio. the af is useless, don't bother. canon will give you much much better options for video. plus i've heard the nikon interface for video on a d3100 is pretty bad.
little bit extra and you can get the t3i with the flip out screen and better video. mostly though it's about canon vs nikon, I'd go with canon all the way
I have the D3100 and I love it. I take prob 50% vid 50% photo. Takes great pictures and I love the video on it. I film with two of them because my friend has one and I cant complain at all about it. If you have any questions pm me
