Feedback feature:dump it!

It is a fucking troll fest. If anyone has checked it out lately, trolls spend their lives whoring it up. It was a great idea to track scammers in the B/S/T, but the intended purpose have failed. So here are my suggestions to make it better:

1.A feedback can only be posted after a registered transaction is made. It should be impossible to troll.

2. When a troll is reported and banned, all posts in forums, media and feedback should automatically be deleted

3.Just dump it, get rid of the feature and put the space to better use

I say no for removing it. I haven't and never will do any transactions and still use and receive feedback. Th Delete Troll-Delete Post suggestion might be a good one, but is it really viable with code, who knows.

Its not a terrible idea to go around and clean up all feedback that doesn't pertain to a transactions, or even "so and so is an outstanding member of this community" type posts. But that would require some man time and help from members as well to help link us to said feedbacks. I'd be willing to do so, though.

Then make it an offense, sure. It would be nice to see the feedback being used for its intended purpose rather than a stomping ground for bullshit.

#2 would be amazing, but i don't really see that as a possibility unless it's already coded in.

personally i like the feedback system and if they got rid of it something similar would absolutely NEED to take it's place... i don't even respond to people trying to do business with me of any kind if they don't have any feedback.

I have a few more ideas for improvement:

1. Make the user unable to leave feedback to them self. I did it back in 2008 to see, and only one user noticed! (feel free to delete my own feedback and the one from LeadThug420)

2. Make the Nuke button also eliminate posts in the feedback. LeadThug420 left me a nasty one after whoring up my PM's with insults.  I blocked him, but he used the feedback to try to piss me off. He was banned but his feedback still exists.

3. Make the feedback give more weight to the users. What I mean is nobody really looks at who left the feedback. It should be important to see the status or karma of the user leaving the feedback. This way, other people looking at the feedback feature can decide who left a bullshit note and who left a quality note.

AND special thanks to I_AM_MOD for restoring the thread. I was surprised it was deleted in the first place, I considered it a quality post...although I can see how the title can be offensive to sensibilities.

why would they want to keep the posts, feedback, ect. of deleted members? what good does that do?

leadthug420 also left me a bad one for no reason, and was banned. why wasnt it deleted?

i used to do buisiness with anyone on this site as long as they'd been here for a little while and neve... (wait i just remembered i got scammed 10 bucks for a shirt once but he had legit feedback)and was lucky enough to never loose any substantial amount of money

these days i would never buy anything from someone unless they had legit feedback from an active member i recognize, an ebay type feedback system would be nice i think

but as said earlier an ebay style feedback would be somewhat helpful but can still be tarnished by people who do not like that member.

for example if you have to rate that person, someone can rate him bad without having a transaction.

the feedback system is definitely something that can be improved, but how? there is really no perfect solution.
