Carrying on a glide cam?

Has anyone ever put their glide cam in their carry on? Its not a weapon but its a weird metal rod I'm not really sure what TSA would think about it. Any advice?

you can bring a tripod, so i assume you could bring a GC

yeah i brought a tripod and i was fine so a gc should be fine

I break it down and distribute the parts amongst my clothes. Along with my guitar pedals and, avy gear, and harddrive enclosures my luggage is probably very "suspicious" looking yet I've had no problems.

i just did it 2 days ago, put my tripod in my ski bag and strapped my glidecam onto my backpack. security thought it was actually really neat. everything went fine
