talk to a knowledgeable boot fitter. boot shells can be modified to an extent, but once they change too much it compromises the flex and overall performance of the boot. it's a case by case thing, a problem that can't really be diagnosed or alleviated on the internet.

I have a bone spur right under my left ankle and the only way to get rid of it is to have surgery, which I chose not to do. My boot fitter punched out the area around the bone spur - problem solved (as far as pain from the bone spur goes anyways).

Van thats called a bunion, my mom used to have one and she had to get surgically removed, and then cast and crutches for a while. I'm pretty sure surgery is the only way to get rid of them. Mabeye just blow out the liner where the spot is?
