Bio 5 or 7?

I want to learn some form of cork tomorrow, since Big Sky will be having a prime pow day and such. would bio 5 or seven be easier? i can stomp regular 5s and 7s (well, sevens on a good day), hand drag cork, but i just don't have any legit corked rotations really.

what should i try? also tips on bios would be sick, because its hard to find them really.

also, I'm new to newschoolers. been lurkin for awhile now, but just made myself an account. sup guys.

welcome to newschoolers,

for you question, you should definitely learn cork before bio. and you should should learn them on tramps before. IMO ive never seen a bio 7 on ski(only on tramps, i can do them on tramps but they are really sketchy). i dont think bio 5 exist so dont even think about doing it.

i was under the impression bio is just more of a less layed out cork, so i guess im basically just saying cork here. ive got the rotation for cork 7 cliff jumping/into foampits and what not.

A bio is a forward leaning cork:


Note how his feet don't go over his head.

Cork is backwards leaning, same deal with the feet:

the best is to practice on a trampoline with some ankle weights to simulate skis. then progress onto snow

the thing with the ankle weights is that you can still spin the same with them on. it's the length of the skis that slows you down really

Bio 5 is the first inverted/corked rotation i learned and i personally think its a good place to start.  bio 7 is much harder and there's a tendency to land backseat a little bit.  I find 9s to be easier than 7s sometimes, but at that point they end up just feeling like flat spins. 

I do agree with the few people who said start with cork 7 to a certain extent.  It's the base for a ton of bigger tricks, and definitely something that you should learn to do well.  Either bio 5 or cork 7, but if you can visualize the bio 5, do that.  Misty 5 is relatively easy too, just flip more.

right on, i got my first backflip today but ski patrol made me take dlwn my jump because apparently the area i was in was closed haha, so i didnt get to try any corks due to only being able to hit the jump 3 times lol. i guess ill try cork 7 next time i set up a nice jump.
