so i am in need of a new boot and i really want to get either the voodoo or the krypton. i tried the voodoo on at the shop and it fit really well. i didnt get the chance to try on the krypton but ive read a lot about it. I am about 6'2" and 205 pounds. what would be the better boot for me. I am getting into park and but i am an all mountain skier as well.
The voodoo is a wider boot, so if you have wide feet they might be an option. The krypton (I'm assuming Rampage) is the classic 3 piece design just like the full tilts. I have them and they feel great on my feet, but you always should go to a bootfitter and get fitted.
I ride the voodoos and they are a great boot. I have a pretty narrow foot so I do have some slop iside to side in them but with that in mind I have no performance issues at all. They are a pretty warm boot ( I ski in -10 to -20 weather most of the time) the ont problem I can maybe see with the voodoos vs kryptons (if they both fit your foot well) is that the voodoos are pretty soft, and your a big guy, but it's all skier preference. Good luck, and please go to a boot fitter if you haven't already!
its pretty much been said, but the voodoos are sort of more of a value-based boot, not as high performance, and are wider. the krypton series are more performance based, are narrower, and are far more expensive. they both have the 3 piece design i beleive but the kyrptons have an option to swap out tongues. the voodoo has "variable flex" which means they are soft at first but the more you flex them the harder it is. my brother has them though, and they seem kinda stiffer than i thought. if the kryptons fit and youre willing to pay up for them, i say go for it
I fit your description and I ride the vodoo's. They are awesome boots and they ride alot like a park boot even though they are classified for all mountain. The only thing Im having a problem woth is breaking them in but ive only used them one
