So I have this idea, can I just leave my skis in my ski racks all the time when im not skiing? I usually just to the mtn after work and my house is out of the way. I keep my ski gear in my tahoe and my skis on top which I lock them at all times. I thought that the rain wouldn't really hurt the skis since the snow is water anyway. Does anybody else do this too, or is this a bad idea?
the rubber that pinches on your skis will eventually get warped and not be as effective (at least on my yakima setup, i noticed it after i left my skis in it overnight)
I really didnt think about the rubber getting warped, I have them side by side instead of bottom-to-bottom. So this way the water can blow off and there thin as the width of the ski
if it were me i wouldent leave them on overnight. but what ever its your gear. just remember if you have any top sheet cracks, deep nicks etc. and rain somehow gets to the wood it will expand. now this would take a while and prob wouldent even matter. i just would find somewhere else to leave them.
