There is another thread about so inb4/ search bar,repost. A guy that works at a shop that sells em said dont get the 2 unless ur upgrading from pre gopro hd. I love my hd hero I've seen the 2 w the LCD display but I don't think it's necessary for an extra 100

i don't own either but i've watched a bunch of comparison vids and it really doesn't seem like its uber improved....from engadget " For the most part, GoPro has improved on what was already a popular product, so we expect newcomers to be pleased, but upgraders might want to consider if there is enough net benefit."

I believe the big difference is the 2 shoots 1080p at 60fps.  the hero can only shoot 1080 at 30fps.  this means the hero2 footage should be much better at higher resolution.

I've tried the new one and its much better. In sunlight the old one gave a little orange pictures but they fixed that. Other than that there are a couple of new features such as different angles of the lens and the buttons are so much better. (imo that was the worst thing about go pro 1)

For fast motion, you will see the benefits of 60fps vs 30fps as vids should be smoother with the 60fps.

If you decide to do some slow motion (say half speed ) in your vids then it will def be better as you will  be viewing @ 30fps vs 15fps.

Wow! That's what I'd be shooting in then. Unless you are viewing on a big screen tv, then 120fps  will give you a great vid. And the super slow motion will be great as well.

Plus, you should be able to do some nice screen grabbing if you want an individual pic.

The 2 doesn't shoot 60 fps at 1080p. But yes the picture quality is much higher due to the doubled amount of megapixels.

yes it does. also the 2 is gonna have the bakpak thing which i dont believe is out yet, but basically you will be able to view on a smart phone the footage you just took. also you will be able to turn the camera on and off with your smartphone. i think.

there is a ton of info in here right now that is completely false.

hd 2: 11MP resolution, 960p at 48fps, 480p at 120fps, new lense, 170* at 1080, 10 photo burst mode, timelapse pi every 1/2 second, and the new wifi bacpac

that everything the hd 2 has the the original hd does not. NO it does not shoot 1080 at 60fps, no it does not shoot 720fps at 120fps. unless my sarcasm meter is broken you all are retarded. as for how much better, i think the price is valid. ive had the original hd, and now have 2 hd2's and i can definitly notice the difference. plus the new features are what really makes it better, not so much the lens
