So a friend and me decided we are going to go to the redwoods and camp over new years for about 7 days. Does anyone know of a good area thats free to camp and kind of secluded from people. Hike in camp spot or just a place we could drive right to will work.
I would suggest hiking along the lost coast. It is absolutely gorgeous, and the redwood forests are right there as well.
Just google "lost coast california hiking". It is truly one of the most spectacular pieces of caostline on the west coast...and it is super remote.
I would also check out big sur, though its a pretty far drive for you.
the redwood forests are gonna be constantly 52 degrees, gray, and damp. its not real fun backpacking when you can never dry anything. but it will be a sick trip regardless.
Thank you a ton! 10/10. Ya its going to be kind of shitty being wet the whole time but i camp in the oregon forest alot so im used to it. Im stoked to chill and smoke in the forest
