Park Skiers who don't try

I've only been skiing park for two seasons so far but I've noticed there's just a certain group of people who go out and buy the nicest freeskiing gear and all they do once they get to the park is ski right past the rails and do straight airs off the jumps, not even attempting a trick, and this is all they do the whole day. Now I'm not a pro by any means, but i at least try (and fall many times in the process) to get better at park skiing. Idk why I'm ranting, what do you guys think of these people?

This thread again...

Honestly the only people in the park who piss me off are those who snake others, and those who skip every feature and still talk shit about other people.
Funnily enough, the first case person is usually a good skier/snowboarder who thinks they have some kind of special status because they know more tricks.

this, always gives me something to compare myself to for a quick moral boost. like today it was the start of the season where i am and only my 2nd day out and i was trying to get my 2sev's back. i fell a couple times but i still looked better than all the posers there so it made me feel better

Yesterday a knuckled it on a 540 off a relatively big jump. I twisted my knee and my back still hurts today. After that i didn't spin on any of the jumps, so they may have their reasons for not being as steezy as the op thinks he is.

I hate haters. And straight airs are fun too. The OP is a retarded ski nazi. If Kids want to buy (or have parents buy) nice stuff then so be it. If they want to pizza through the park, so be it. Although most of this is true... I do have to say that we all started somewhere... Im not that good at park but can still do a few rails and some straight airs but i have some friends that are in the park doing everything the op talks about.. This is how one gets comfortable in the park so they can start doing jumps and rails... imo


By the way.. i am not a ski racer... i race other things and i need to change my name but cant...

so OP. should my dad not wear his FT classics that were suggested by our shop for him to use. According to your logic big mountains skiers shouldnt wear splices because they can't do anything in the park.

I have dislocated knee cap, and 3 sprained MCL's all in the left knee. I play competitive golf all summer. I can't risk getting a more serious injury. Sometimes you cant tell whats going on under what people are wearing.

last year i bruised both my shin bones and i felt like a wuss doing laps with my friends throwing down, but a wonky landing from anything like a 540 would put me out most of the day.

so the point of the story is that sometimes you get hurt, but i definitely know what your saying.

To the OP- are you on the east coast? Not saying it was you but two days ago some dumbass kid asked me nearly the same question. I simply looked at my buddy and said "is this tard for fucking real?". If it was you I'll give you the more diplomatic answer. Two years ago I broke my face off a stupid little jump. Wasn't wearin a helmet and literally broke my face in alot of places. Each year since then I've had to undergo grueling reconstructive surgeries. My most recent was this september. I was laid up for two months. I just recently found out that one of the plates in my upper jaw was detaching and my upper jaw literally now has a complete break for about two inches on one side. I am going to have to go back in now and get it rebroken and have all the hardware (all 27 screws and 5 plates) replaced. It's likely going to destroy this season for me. But I've gone as often as I can and still try to make at least a few laps through the park. The biggest thing I throw right now is a 3 and maybe a 3 mid-grind. Mostly though it's just straight airs. Point being that maybe you shouldn't judge someone's ability or desire to progress based on how they're skiing today. For all you know at one point they coulda been a pro and are recovering from an injury. Ya never know. Keep an open my and put out good vibes. I gauruntee the good vibes will come back to ya.

Good vibes your way dude. My lil sis had orthodontic surgery where they broke her lower and upper jaw to fix a substantial overbite. Morphine was her best friend for the time. Healing z Remember, skiing isn't solely about park anyways. The best skier can rip, tear, and shred any section of the mountain. I was skiing today and learned hand drag 3's (piece of effing cake btw), dropped some cliffs, hiked for some pillow lines, practiced unnatural spins and rail slides, carved up some simple groomer runs, sprinted some crappy, crusty, skied-out glades, and generally put good energy into every single "feature" on the ski hill that I came across. Sore as hell now, but all in a day's work, right? However, some days I will ride corduroy and no more, so be it. Skiing can be gentle cruisin' too, not just terrain park shit. Seems like a few need to realize that not everyone is competing.X

Thanks man and vibes back at ya. I go in today to see just how bad things are and to schedule a surgery I guess. I can tell ya this though, if it is a worst case scenario I am def ridin tomorrow like its my last day all year. Haha
