or the uslessly massive amounts of pesticides (ie-nerve gas, believe it or not) stored in armored bunkers underground with the entrances covered by camo netting

OR, the satellite photos showing Iragi soilders crossing the boarder into saudi arabia to bury massive amounts of chemical weapons (this has been confirmed by intel agencies)

proof that iraq at least HAD WMDs until they were sure we were gonna invade them

As for the WMDs, I love that you are convinced they exist. If they do, WHY hasn't the US Military (who I'm sure have spent at least a little time looking for tehm) been able to find EVEN A TRACE??? (no, that one single rocket with minimal traces of syran nerve gas on teh side of the road left over from the 80s doesn't count). you're wrong. the WORLD knows you're wrong. so shut teh hell up and stop trying to convince people otehrwise.

Explain this to me:
Why wouldnt saddam allow us to inspect their buildings?

Is it possible that Iraq could have moved their WMD to other areas in the middle east in the time they were afraid we were forcefully going to inspect?

it IS possible. Infact, I completely believed they still had them at teh start of the war. However, the US military, combined with international intellegence AND world wide forces have been un able to find even a TRACE of them. The US government has admitted the intellegence they had on the WMDs was FALSE.

When the world's superpowers, the UN, and many MANY independent sources have all said they don't exist... they don't.

No they didnt let us in because I think sadaam was tired of the fact that the US walks all over him, and dictates whatever we want to him as well. It was his way of taking a stand I guess...it wasnt very smart but honestly I dont think the guy is that bright these days.

^^ No. UN forced Iraq to have these inspections not just America. But America was the only one to enforce it. UN did not do their job and America did it for them. For some reason half of America thinks we're bad guys for doing that.

If we have satellite photos showing exactly where Iraqi soldiers buried chemical weapons (according to aggro_sk8 they're in Saudi Arabia), then why haven't we found them?

And as for Saddam not letting us inspect all his buildings... If there were another country railroading an attack on us through the UN using some flimsy excuse like 'Weapons of Mass Destruction' do you think we'd be cooperative? Remember: it is impossible to prove that Iraq DOESN'T have WMDs (it's logically impossible to prove a negative) so the burden of proof lies on the accuser. Innocent until proven guilty.

How about the Saudi government that was home to almost all of the 9/11 attackers, how come I don't hear about them? that's right, all terroists are from Iraq, Afghanistan, and even Pakistan. Nevermind all the non middle eastern terrorists out there, we don't care about them.

There was no concrete, conclusive proof that Iraq had WMDs when we invaded, that's for damn sure. And does anyone here dispute the fact that Iraq was not an imminent threat to the US when we attacked?

In this case, war was definitely NOT used as a last resort. And now there are 1,000 dead Americans and 12,000 dead Iraqi civilians because of our leaders' rash decisions.

dont say september 11 because that wasnt about the us have weapons, obviously

^^^^^because that would mean going into saudi arabia without their permission, and right now theyre worried about finishing up with irag, but i have strong suspiscions that saudi arabia will soon be next

as for the NY times thing, it was the only newspaper that came to mind. i like and do read the ny times. but im will still say that they dont caver everything, as one newspaper cant carry every story. i do apologize about naming them specifically

oh, btw, you want the US to listen to the UN when going to war for their own intrests, but you say its ok for iraq to push around the UN inspectors when theyre searching for WMDs. (it wasnt the US going into iraq for inspections, it was a multi-national group from the UN) double standard?

Hans Blix(sp?) is a . He would tell saddam where he would be inspecting for WMD's, and saddam would move them around. Enough WMD's have been found to kill 1/2 a million people. the weapons are prob. in Syria too.

The war in Iraq has made Saudia Arabia find and arrest more terrorists. I don't think we will attack saudia arabia too soon. We need there oil, and unless we can get iraq's oil and OPEC starts to be nice to us, then we can attack them.

the problem with saudi is that the princes are strongly anti-terrorism, they are seen as 'evil' by bin laden and are his sworn enemies. they have ALOT to lose from terrorism so being aggressive towards them wont work. however, there are a few thousand princes and for not ONE of them to be dodgy im unsure about, but again they are sworn enemies of bin laden etc.

if im wrong sorry but this is what my dad said and he lived in Saudi for about 7 years and has lived in Abu Dhabi since..

^^it wasn't meant to be a list. they might be helping us with terrorists, but thats because they hate terrorism, not because they want to help us.

but they did help iraq with hiding WMDs, and thats another conflict altogether

i hope we dont go into saudi arabia, theyve been one of our few friends in the middle east, and i hope that continues, we've had a good relationship with them in the past. but if you have read Gen. tommy frank's book, they've continually made it difficult for our troops with what is refered to as 'death by a thousand cuts', they ask from us every little thing, and it causes us to be hindered in whatever operation that we have going on at the time, even if they support us. they ask us to follow all their cultural rules even if it puts our troops in harms way, or doesnt affect them cause we're in the middle of the desert. (ie- telling women soilders not to carry guns, or telling us we can play our music when were hundreds of miles from the nearest town.)

ok, now im just rambling, but basically, i hope we dont go into saudi arabi, and no, theres no list of countries were gonna attack

Good God, this entire thread is one big Golden Wheelchair. So the Saudis have the WMDs now? It's like hot potato! So... if we know where they are, why haven't we gone in to get them? I mean, it's not like 'respect for other nations' stopped anyone from invading certain other countries without cause... and if they know where they are, couldn't inspectors just go in, find them, and declare your story true? Think before you guys post, because some of this is so nonsensical, it's laughable.

Saddam is our enemy for one of two reasons:

1. He has funded many terrorist groups like Al-Quida (sp?) and many other. In order to get rid of terrorism we need to cut their funds.

No. Iraq and Al-Quaeda did NOT get along well. An Al-Quaeda operative and an Iraqi official once spoke to each other, and that was about the extent of their relationship. (I believe the 9/11 commission included this in their report)

2. The whole WMD deal.

So they DO have WMD's? But we haven't found them yet, right? So that means they're still there (buried in the desert, right? Or perhaps they're in Saudi Arabia?). And the American military is beginning to pull out, right? So what happens when Iraq's government goes sour and they dig up ALL those chemical weapons that they have hidden all over the place? Will we have to do this all over in 20 years?

Coolcat... Do you really think that your army hasn't searched everywhere now that they're (relatively) in control of the country?

Do you really think that, had weapons of mass destruction had been found, the Bush administration would have hid it not to make you afraid? Of course not, they would have released the information immediately to redeem the whole war and win the upcoming election for sure. Use your brain...

Of course, action was necessary in Iraq eventually. France's stance was hypocritical. But don't you think the timing and advantages are oddly huge advantages to the U.S? Why don't they do something about other situations in the world, that are as bad or worst than Iraq was before the war? And what about the fact that the vast majority of terrorists were Saudis...?

Sorry, but you have to face this fact: you are an ignorant by-product of your destitute school system. Americans have the least international knowledge than all the other western countries. The goverment shifted the emphasis of your public school programs from geography to science a few years ago.

Result: americans are ignorant and in politics wildly in influenced by small, insignificant coin phrases and words such as 'terrorist' and 'freedom'. Please coolcat, inform yourself. Watch other news than Fox. Read good newspapers. I personnaly think it's time for reform in your school systems.

Some americans are conservative and informed on this site, just like some are liberals and ignorant. I'm not being judgmental, it's least of all your fault, but you're not allowed to make vast political statements when you're ignorant.

Of course, you're maybe a college student who's just plain dumb, but I doubt it.
