u get the general vibe. wat i got from it was that the kids were being good, they stopped and listened to patrol, the kids sounded very respectful. then at like 1:57 patrol just went way over the top. very unneccessory

i've ridden the strawberry gondola w/ a basin patroller before who was super nice. clearly this guy just needs to get off his high horse. also, there's power-trip patrollers at every mountain... this is nothing new.

same "I wasn't that close!" excuse. It may be that I didn't hear everything because I didn't have headphones in on this iPhone, but it didn't sound too bad. Sure that guy shouldn't have gone off on the kid, but give him a break. He has to deal with this everyday and most of the time the kids have the same excuse. Most importantly, who gives a fuck? He cussed...

I think the main complaint people have (and it was pretty hard to hear) was that the kid was actually being very courteous and respectful towards both the instructor and the patroller. It was only when the swearing and pass pulling came out of the blue that either the filmer or the rider got at all agitated. I still feel like they were punished out of proportion to both the "crime" and to the level of respect they showed the patroller.

Oh man I hadn't heard about this yet? There are a few other threads about some incident that happened at Snow Basin? Crazy that 4 other incidents happened at the same mountain with the same kids and same patrolmen.  I wonder how many more times I'll see posts about this?

Fuck Snowbasin Resort and their Ski Patrol. This happens all the time there, this is definitely not the first instance like this. These dudes are homies and they definitely did not deserve to be treated like that when they are always respectful when riding there. What they said about their ski team always skiing reckless and fast is 100% true. That mountain, for some reason, won't do or say shit to their ski team not matter how wrong they are. I will never support Snowbasin ever again, not because of this one instance but because this happens every single day.

I clearly heard him apologize. What's the big deal? He got agitated and dropped an F bomb then realized his mistake and apologized, but the kids kept talking. It wasn't okay, but everyone drops an F bomb when they get a little pissed and he kept getting interrupted so his attitude is justified. This isn't worth a thread.

Ski patrollers just need to take a fucking chill pill. When you talk to a kid who is doing very little to nothing wrong, and immediately talk aggressively and are just being a straight up douche bag, thats when you cross the line. Tell the kid what you thought he was doing wrong and have a productive conversation, dont come at his neck right off the bat.

This patroller should lose his job and that is a fact, however don't bag on all ski patrols just because the actions of this guy. Patrols are out there saving lives everyday for little to no pay and especially in Park/pipe skiing which these boards are so prolific for accidents happen and they prob have saved a few kids lives on here..

We are frankly embarrassed by this situation and have taken measures to prevent this type of incident occurring in the future. Snowbasin strongly believes in treating all of our guests with respect.
