So I'm skiing today at loon for those of you who know where that is and I see a kid wearing the new sessions newschoolers jacket, I'm like this kid must know what's up so I go over to him. I give him the classic "chads gap to Alta" call out and he just stares blankly and has no idea what I'm saying. It just made me feel real awkward I figured a kid wearing the newschoolers jacket would at least know the call out. Anyone else have experiences like this with very unsuccessful call outs?
Itd be cool to implement some missed connections forum.
"lodge at beaver, i dont know if those boots were next years hot doggers or you modded them yourself? gotta say, i wanted to tell you how dope they were, hopefully you see this:) DBAstranger"
I give the classic how do you get to chads to some kid on instagram who has like forty something pictures with tags like #newschoolers #skiseason and he said, "never heard of it, I am from cali. I was in salt lake for five days of skiing Brighton. Is the gap sick? I have a buddy that lives in alta."
He used one of my threads when my iPod auto corrected progression to profession it was saying that I lost a lot of tricks over the summer not that I can't do any
I had a successful callout at Moonlight Basin MT. He was in the lift line with a NS sticker on his helmet. And i did the callout and he simply replied with, I think they blew it up.
I got giddy inside cause it was the first callout i have done successfully.
I got called out once, with my ex in PC, I was wearing a big yellow NS tshirt and saga pants, the shirt gave it away obviously. It was a simple "Newschoolers?" "Hell ya!"
And then we skied the day in PC with Noss.$ It was chill as fuck.
callouts are the stupidest fucking thing ever. seriously you both are out skiing and you ask them if theyre on newschoolers? who the fuck cares your both out skiing so why does it matter if they waste their time on a website
I was in the gondola at breck and on the way down met some chill dudes from Minnesota and just said newschoolers and knew what I was talking about. I always feel awkward failing on the call out, so i do a more straight forward approach.
the other day i saw a kid at mohawk (the mountain ten minutes from my house, roughly 500 feet vertical, four lifts, eight trails, tiny mountain never see an NSer there besides me and my friends) who acknowledged that we were both wearing LDC china pants and i was like yeaaah bro! and skied away. then it clicked to ask him about chads gap, and he knew what was up, and i was stoked. not awkward at all.
I got called out by a kid at A-Basin with a black tee with a gold NS logo and I used the proper response to the "How do you ge to chads from the bottom of Alta" question then the convorsation ended.
Goahh this is the worst. I see so many people with the old TJ schiller "Road Pylon" Pro Model Orage jacket. I'm always like hey man nice jacket, and we chat a little bit from there, the conversation always ends with them snowboarding......
i saw i guy at winter park CO a couple weeks ago skiing park with the NS jacket and was like 'yea newschoolers" and he just looked at me blankly, it was kinda weird, i felt unloved
To the guy wearing the NS jacket and stone washed black jiberish hoodie today at Holimont, in Ellicottville, NY! Reveal yourself! You're kind of cute :)
I got called out in last weekend.
I live in Norway, so everybody speaks Norwegian, and not many people are on NS.
Suddenly I got asked by an american guy if I knew where Chads gap was...
It was cool, cuz my buddies couldn't understand half of what we said to eachother.
