Awkward NS call out

So I'm skiing today at loon for those of you who know where that is and I see a kid wearing the new sessions newschoolers jacket, I'm like this kid must know what's up so I go over to him. I give him the classic "chads gap to Alta" call out and he just stares blankly and has no idea what I'm saying. It just made me feel real awkward I figured a kid wearing the newschoolers jacket would at least know the call out. Anyone else have experiences like this with very unsuccessful call outs?

Last weekend, I saw a snowboarder with the NS jacket. I was gonna do the chad's gap call out if I was close to him, but I wasn't :(

at my family reunion a few years ago, i thought my aunt was pregoo.....i asked her....got slapped...that's and i saw a lady with a saga sticker and asked if she skied....she looked at me like i was retarded..

Kids at top of park with t-wall fulltilts line a-bangs and pivots. Over hear them talking about how much karma they have on newschoolers. Opportunity arises go over to them

yeah i've done that a couple times, where people didn't know what was going on. also one time in a web design class this kid was watching Tim Durtchi's edias segment.

when the dub on pyramid happened i was like:

me: so dope, pyramids huge
him: wtf are you talking about
me: the gap he threw a dub flat over
him: seriously wtf are you talking about.
me: its a trick. are you going to the grand bizarre premier
him: wtf are you talking about
me: its a movie, made by the same people who made that
him: they make movies??
me: yeah

then he kind of just looked at me weird

I dont think people realize that easily 70% of NS is GAPERS to the max.


If you dont believe me just look at half the threads that wind up in ski gabber.

for those of you who need examples of what i'm talking about, I shall make a list of ridiculous thread titles that any normal freeskier would say, "WHY IN GODS NAME ARE YOU SERIOUSLY ASKING THIS":

"Jiberish?"
"4bi9?"
"ski boots on a plane?"
"What to expect from a sponsorship"
"profession speed"
"360's"
"Progressing????"
"what is a freeskier?"
"building a kicker?"
"Best parks in utah?"----------------------anyone knows that PC is uncomparable, however Brighton isn't a terrible substitute

"Easy grabs"
"why do people make fun of me when I take my skis off?"


and so forth. its painful sometimes

Whenever these threads pop up theres like 50 people who have tried to call people out, but the call-outee is either a poser, slow, or just retarded. How come the call outers don't ever run into each other.

I called out a guy at Blue Mtn. in Toronto... He didn't post though, just watched edits. It was semi-awkward.
Got called out by some other guy a couple of years ago who actually posted (forget his username though)... i lied and said i didn't post because i'm afraid of people IRL finding out my NS identity.

I still wonder where a kid that has line invaders, fulltilts, tall tees and a g suit, pants tucked into boots learns about all that stuff and then has no clue what ns is. Like half the time if you go up to somebody who looks like they'd be on here they're not.

And how do people not know the callout. Or at least the chad's gap thing. If you read 3 threads, 1 will probably have something about chad's in it. I've still never been called out, but I also don't dress in tall tees or bright colors.

I once saw a kid at student night at my campus' bar wearing a NS tallT. I went up and tried the call out and he just looked at me like I had the plague. In his defense it was pretty loud in there so he was probably just confused because some drunk girl was screaming at him for no apparent reason and pointing at his shirt.

Had my first NS sighting the other day in traffic. I have a ns sticker on my truck and I'm sitting at a red light. This car pulls up beside me and the kid was just staring at me and mouths "hey". So I'm like WTF, why is this cracka muggin me. Then I looked back and saw he had a Jiberish hat on. So I mouthed "newschoolers" and he picked up his skis in the back of his car and we had like a, fuck yeah!! moment.

I was actually pretty pumped. I've had that sticker there for 2 years and never got spotted before.
So if you saw a dude in a black truck in Biddeford, Maine in traffic like a week ago, that was me!

called out 3 or 4 13 year olds at rye airfield the other night. they were all wearing huge line sweatshirts. I used the classic chads gap from alta call out and a random ass biker laughed and knew what i was talking about. damn little kids didnt though

Opening day at mountain creek, nj i succesfully called out someone. was pretty stoked that this kid i have never seen there decked in saga knew what he was talking about. It gave me hope.

I know who you are talking about, i ski with him all the time. He doesnt know the NS callout, but he is on NS. ftfiend if you were wondering ahah. I was talking to him and he said,"this random guy just came up to me and asked if i knew how to get to Chads gap from the bottom of alta? when I said no he then proceeded to ask me if I love Tom Wallisch" I told him he got trolled.
