Fuck it, in for a penny, in for a pound. I agree with OP. If pieces of the diecut base are falling off after 1 day, who knows what's going on in the skis construction? Maybe they weren't laid up right, maybe they didn't cook them right, maybe it's a dodgy glue batch. Whatever it is, if my skis were falling apart after a single day, I'd take them back to the shop too. Sure I could do a quick epoxy job but as he said, what if a week later half the ski was delamming and I'd voided the warranty by fucking with them? Sure DIY fixes are good when you have rail damage etc. but when it's a clear manufacturing fault you deserve new skis as the ones you have can't be trusted to not fall apart. So I can't see why everyone is laying into him.
