So I figured there was a fair amount of nsers from the area who will be traveling up to hv/kb. If you are just post up in this thread for the winter. Maybe majority of us can get together and ski.
I know there are a few other threads about hv or kb but just let them die and if you're going post in here!

Do you think they'll stay open after the weekend? Ohio skiing runs out after sunday unless something changes, so I'll be making a kamikaze trip up there Monday if there's even just a few decent features up. Can you tell I'm desperate

From what I know, Holiday didn't really get hit with a lot of snow today but they've definitely been able to make it. Maybe they will get some natural snow tomorrow. Mardi Gras and Yodeler look good on the cams. So I definitely think they'd be able to stay open but they might shut down for the weekdays since it's not necessarily peek times yet.

I'm about 20 minutes away from KB right now and we got hit pretty good. A solid 6inches or so on top of snowmaking. I'm going to say KB has a shot at opening too but won't.

i asked local riders and they said no park since they're not opening that part of the hill up..but there's a possibility for some rails to be set up, nothing for certain tho.

on holiday valleys Facebook, they said that theres a possibility for some rails to be set up. nothing crazy though

THEY SUCKED. or maybe I just suck but I caught my edge EVERY FUCKING TIME on the flat down. the other two features were alright though lol.

I actually work at colden ski shop, and yeah carrying Rmu skis is sick. I just got a great deal on a pair that I'm waiting to get bindings for. It's just so cool dealing with skis that are handmade, and such a small company.

Big props to holiday valley and Chris perks for having the park setup which was dope. Holiday is melting fast right now and I'm pretty sure yodeler is the only skiable trail but it's 100% worth it to go.

Holiday valley is open until 430 today and tomorrow. I talked to Chris perks for a bit this morning and he plans to keep the park up, even if the bunny hill closes so people can hike if the lifts close.

And for those wondering, the current setup is a flat down box, flat box, and a 15ish foot snowmaking pipe. Really fun to lap, the entire run up and down takes about a minute and a half if you do it right.

Holiday is doing a real fucking shitty job with letting people know when they're open/closed. I asked Tuesday what it was looking like and they said they weren't opening the rest of this week and then they don't even post till the morning of? Honestly not surprised though after spending the last 6 months working with them. I don't think any of them ever know what's going on.

I can't say too much because I don't work at holiday, but having experience with the resorts I do work for, I have to say it's really complicated this season. You have the inside info, then there's the other info that goes public. Then decisions change, but wait, we have to consider -- should we post that yet? is there cold weather on the horizon? what are other resorts doing? etc. etc.

idk, we all just want snow. COME ON MOTHER NATURE!!!!

Apparently my boss still doesn't understand the concept of communicating, and you guys usually know more than he does anyways. I was told they weren't opening but last time that happened they opened but their website is completely down at the moment.

Nahhh Holiday gets too busy. Move all the features over to KB and they can dedicate the entire place to parks. Break down all the lifts and they can just install rope tows instead... It could work.

i heard that ski school (who is also the park crew) is pushing to put in some lift tower tubes and a box or something for opening day... if they go through with that they'll have more up than holiday valley does right now. Give kb a chance, their parks have deteriorated a bit over the past couple of years but they aren't dead yet.

but lets all take a minute to consider a morning star mega park. require a park pass to get access to the morning star quad. and its wide af so you could fit so much shit. super quick insane laps with the dope fiddlers rail park next to it. This needs to happen

I don't get up to HV much these days but I remember the fiddler's elbow being a terrible place for a park. Last time I was there it was filled with so many people just cruising thru clogging up the park it was unbelieveable. Then, as my sister was filming me on a dfd, a ski school came up and started yelling at her to get out of the way. Fuck that, I know a bunch of 6 year olds are not about to hit a dfd. It escalated to me losing my pass that day because I wouldn't listen to the bitch telling me to move.

Utterly ridiculous, 0/10

It's so tempting to head out there tomorrow. My pass is blackout though. Could probably just hike though and say fuck it... I haven't hit a rail all season so I might die. Totally worth it though. Yup I just talked myself into going to HV in the morning.

psa: kbs park has hit rock bottom. the best feature is a 12ish foot flat bar. the lips are taller than the rails and ride on, and no lip is wider than 2 and a half feet max. its brutal, do not waste your time going there at least until they learn to set up features well or set more up.

Okay. Pole Jam to a bank, C rail, flat tube, volcano tap, hip, flat down rail, flat down box, dfd, waterfall. Not gonna last long, they plan to rip it all out make more snow and reset with more features soon.
