jlens05Moving the park was defenitely a terrible decision, and they refuse to move it
back. idk where all the money goes that they take in but it certainly doesn't go into making the resort better (especially the park). I've got a ton of days there this year and have only seen park crew doing anything at all maybe 5 times. I'm spending the extra money and buying a full seasons to HV next year for sure. Kb just refuses to listen to what the people want. But honestly the setup they had for get a heart on was super dope, it shows the potential of what they could've done. End of my rant
The park move was justified. Their reasoning behind it was definitely pretty solid in my opinion. It sucks for park skiers but as a business/resort it made a lot of sense.
1. The terrain where park used to be(world & devils funnel) were determined to be too good of terrain to keep a park there.
2. Having the park over there delayed opening park. They would need to make snow not only on that run but also on the shuttle getting over there and the trail back. So by moving it to twister they would be able to open it faster.
3. They would have had to run world all the time. And I'm pretty sure we only ran it about 20-30ish days, mostly weekends. At the beginning of the season they didn't have enough lifties to run all the lifts. (Drug tests scared people from coming back)
4. They wanted to get all the parks and freestyle things closer together. The mini park, twister, and the airbag were all there to unify the parks. Having twister, the mini park on coal, and main park wasn't cutting it for them I suppose.
I don't really like what they did from a riders point of view. They had a good idea, but it just didn't work out.
I see park crew around all the time though. When I work a day shift(about 6-8 hours) they'll head up about 3-5 times to rake and stuff. They do more maintenance than they have in the past, that is for sure. I didn't really like the set up too much this year though. There was sooooo much space that they could have utilized(area next to the first jump). They could have gotten a few more features in over there for sure.
