How to mount GoPro on a Ski pole?

Ive seen kids mounting gopros on ski poles and i was wondering if they used a specific mount they make (like the roll bar mount or handlebar mount) or if the just sorta made their own make shift mount for it. If you know how or if you do, how do you do it?

use a handle bar mount and wrap tape around the pole till it is thick enough

I just found it. think its worth it? i dont have a handle bar mount yet or a spare ski pole so i would still have to buy the mount and find a ski pole.

yer they are really good a couple of friends use them and would recommend this beacuse it will be alot more secure with your go pro rather than some ghetto mount

alright awesome! i think im gonna go with the grenade grip because im really just looking to film other people. Cant ski much powder in the East Coast so there is really no need to film my self with a pole cam.

just get a handlebar mount and put it on your ski pole that you use. And carry it when your not using it... no need to buy a whole nother pole

get a nerf gun and put one of the mounts on that. shoot your friends while getting it on camera. i saw that once.


but seriously, two of my friends have gopros, both have the legit pole mount made by gopro (i think its the handlebar/seatpost one). One of them also has an old pole that he cut down so he can stick the pole mount on the end, its really easy to shoot with it. or you can go with a diy method, should work just as well, can't really go wrong.

I dont know if you have any old ski poles around. But I just took an old shity one that I found in my basement, cut it in half then pounded it flat with a hamer. After this I stuck a flat mount on it and its worked well for me.

NEED:
Ski Pole
Pipe Cutter
2 Clamps
Mini Tripod
Go Pro Tripod Mount

First cut the ski pole to length that you'd like. Then put one of the legs of the tripod in the ski pole. Next clamp the two other legs to the outside of the ski pole. Attach the tripod mount to the tripod and you are done. Hope this helps. Click for larger imageClick for larger image

Have a old hockey stick laying around? Cut it the lenght you want, stick a flat mount on there BOOM. you have the mount, plus you already have a grip.. I went in the ocean with it, thrown the stick plus go pro in the pool, dropped the stick a bunch of time and it's still holding up great.

yeh man i just use the roll bar mount, it such a beter angle than all the above and or chest mount being ble to actually see what the skiier is doing, amazing for powder days..

You can pretty much mount it on anything. My friend mounted it on small pvc pipe or something, but it's better if the thing your mounting it on is light.. Don't want to be waving around a 20 lb slab of wood ^

handlebar mount on top of the grip
but dont leave your mount anywhere on the pole when you are not using it because I crashed and the mount got ripped off and i never saw it again

Ask hockey buddies for broken sticks.

I used some waterproofing spray bullshit my dad had. Sprayed the stick with. then hockey tape for grip, and a flat mount. too bad i left it at my parents house.

I have mine pole mounted alot. I put a thick piece of rubber about an inch wide right above my baskets, and wrapped it with electrical tape until it fit properly. It works amazing. When I am not using it I just pull the handle bar mount off and throw it in my pocket. Aditonally I grabbed a busted pole from my mountains pro shop and cut it down to about a foot and a half and did the same thing again so I can give it to someone else without poles to film.
