Afterdark Review

So for Christmas I received Afterdark and I decided since I had already done a Weight review, that I would do one on Level 1's new movie as well. First, I would like to say how wonderfully edited this was. The themes in each segment were awesome and I loved the way they were put together. Great job Level 1. Secondly, each segment was also put together nicely and the song choices were fantastic. I realize some people don't agree with me on that point, but I loved most of them. My favorite segment was without a doubt the Russia segment. It had a quick-paced, fun theme to it and even my mom popped in to watch it and tell me how much she enjoyed it.
All in all, great job this year by everyone in that crew. It was a great movie to watch and I will be re-watching again and again.

By the way, I'll let you guys know next month about the bonus material seeing how much there is ;).

My review

1st watch - Didnt like it
2nd watch - I was stoned and the editing and music ruled, loved it
3rd watch - Parker is now my favourite skier
4th watch - This ,movie fucking rocks

The more and more and more I watch it the better it gets for some reason.

Parker is on another level. I was confused as to why Casabon had a segment though. It was like 30 seconds long haha. I would've just thrown it into that segment with Wallisch, Kaya, Harlaut, etc. Nevertheless. Level 1 was great.

some of the songs were really good choices like the russia segment and chris logans seggy, but most of the soundtrack was flat out awful, especially wiley's song, that made me want to puke.other than that the movie was dope. hornbeck is on another level and is going bigger than ahmet, hes definaely not reciving the full credit he deserves. also it would have been sick to see a silverton/telluride big mountain segment. oh yeah and tanner rainvilles part is still among my favorite segments put out this year. overall an enjoyable movie to watch, good work level 1 /ramble

The Casabon segment is so short because he made that edit himself and sent it to Level 1 so they could use it for something. Plus it was shots from small Orage shoots. But I liked that 30 seconds of footy haha. AD was my favorite this year. One of my favorites of all time. Boom.

anyone who didn't like the music in that movie is fifteen and can't accept anything but rap in a ski movie. That was probably one of the best scored movies i've ever seen (minus the song in wallisch's seg)

If you are complaining about the music in that movie, you're basically telling everyone you're immature

Yes! I stopped right after the intro because I had things to do, but I'm definitely going to watch it again. It was super interesting to hear about the ice sponsors and how long it took.

The first time I watched it I was drunk at the showing in Utah. Fucking best night ever hahaha I remember staring at the screen just with a gaping mouth during that first part that's all night shots

Parker's segment was fucking unreal. Hands down the best segment I've seen in any movie this year, although some of the stuff hoji did in all.I.can as well as mark abma's stuff in revelstoke in attack of la Nina were insane as well.
