Well sorry for bringing up the topic of moderation again, but I just wanted to ask the moderaters (I know who some of you are, but not others) what criteria you use to decide when to delete a thread.
I guess I am wondering why any thread brought up relating to smoking herb is deleted quickly (I'm assuming because its illegal, but maybe there are other reasons)? I mean first of all talking about it doesnt really hurt anything, and I know that Harvey couldn't get sued or shut down or whatever because there are literally hundreds of forums on the web about nothing but marijuana. And all we are saying here is about smokign and whatnot, we arent using your site to sell to each other or anything. Plus it is really hypocritical because I open up the page and I see three or four threads on the first page alone about drinking and everyone posting in them is 13 or 14 year old kids talking about getting drunk. So whats the difference if we talk about using one illegal substance versus talkign abotu using another?
I'm sure you guys could ask whoever you wanted on this site and they wouldnt be offended or shocked or anythign that some people smoke weed or whatnot. I'm only writing this because I have only recently returned to this site because there has recently been more interesting conversation. It seems like for the past six months abotu the only conversation allowed and promoted by the moderators involves a few all male members creating these little online cliques featuring little cartoon pictures next to their names and kidding about how they find each other sexy. Honestly you could come on this site and all that existed in these forums were the same 10 guys talkign about each other and making little playful jokes towards each other that were probably as offensive in their flaming homosexuality as any discussion about marijuana could ever be.
I'm not targeting the moderators or anything, but it seems like you guys prefer a forum that is more like a little club house with a few overly close members and an attitude liek a fifth grade classroom. I think that is unfortuante because I have followed this site for a couple of years now, and I don't want a shitty and boring site. I really think we are all mature enough to talk about subjects that touch the fringes of society (like marijuana), and maybe if we have moderators who are 'rebel' 's we don't need to always stick right to the standards of common acceptance. So I guess I am asking the moderators a question... why can't we loosen up a little bit? why can't we be free to discuss what we want? what are the reasons for this heavy handed rule and close control, and is it really necessary?
